Nice game, I believe this is your first jam. Some background music and sound effect would have been nice :). Trust me, it makes it more playable and fun. My first jam submission also didn't had music (I submitted it from different account for Wowie game jam) /jam/wowie-jam-4/rate/1663490.
I learned my lesson, and from next jam onwards, I added music and sfx. There are plenty of free websites which you can use for music and sfx :)
Anyways main purpose of joining a jam, should be learn and fun.

I think you could decrease the delay of the controls, because it feels too unresponsive now. After a while I kinda got used to it, but still I think improving it would be a good idea. I suspect that this is one of your first games, and it's maybe not very innovative, but tbh you have a working game, and a good visual for taking damage (which is super important and I've seen much more complex games forgetting about it). Keep going! Btw, you can also check and rate my game.
