Great idea that each level has a unique mechanic and even with zero instructions it was really easy and satisfying. figuring out what to do! The finale was a little anti-climax as it was too easy compared to the levels before. The art remembered me of old games I used to play on the ATARI ST. Like it!

I appreciate that every level has an own music track, it also makes the replay value better. But the tracks seems very random and do not really catch the "surreal" feeling of the game and the music was too straight and melodic.

There was also a lot of missing audio elements, many moving elements, shooting stuff, spiral animation at the end of each level, they were all mute and did not made any sound. I saw a lot of missed audio opportunities here.

It was a fun game and I enjoyed every level of it!

I've never seen games like that. Well done.

this is a really neat game concept!! i really enjoyed the variety of gameplay encountered, and everything ties together nicely :) my only wish was if there were more narrative exploration on the cutscene from the beginning, but otherwise, really great work <3!!

This was a interesting idea for a game, though a bit slow paced. I unfortunately ran in to a crash on level 3 (browser version) and noticed the exit button in the pause menu didn't appear to work.

Developer

I'm sad that you have a bug. The game has a level selection and you can skip the levels that you have already completed. The game has a boss fight and I really like it, I advise you to go through it too, I think you will like it, although it could have been done better. You are right about the exit button, thank you for noticing. We forgot to change the condition in the code when we uploaded the latest version. Thank you for writing this. Personally, this is very valuable to me

No worries, and I did notice the level select and was able to complete the game on my 2nd attempt! I found the later levels a bit more engaging than the first few.  If you are looking for more info on the crash it occurred after spending a lengthy amount of time on the level with the flame.

I liked how most of the levels had different gameplay, I think that could be explored further, especially with the boss, it should do completely wild things. I think the game could be either faster paced or have more hazards like a bullet hell.

The level where falling off the screen puts you very close to a row of hazards was frustrating because it is hard to tell where you will end up and it's too close to react.

Developer

Yes, you are right. The level where the bullets were close to the top of the screen is really unbalanced. There really needed to be a horizontal stream of bullets closer to the center, and not at the top of the screen, since switching your gaze from the bottom to the top and guessing where you will fly out is almost unrealistic, this problem is complemented by the background of the game, which is beautiful, but prevents the gaze from assessing where you will fly out. Thank you very much for your honesty, I appreciate it. Criticism gives more than praise)

Cool idea! Reminds me of snake.

Really liked the behinning cinematic, though was kinda sad that the cool samurai dude didn't show up anymore :(

Gameplay felt quite polished, there were great ideas even if it wasn't always clear what the goal is.

Fun and nice, I like it :)

In fact, there is a ready-made animation of the denouement, but unfortunately we did not have time to add it. I am still sad about this (

I agree that the idea is not always clear. For example, the idea of Loop was not very clearly revealed on the boss, since these are ordinary attacks with a peeling screen, but it would be possible, for example, to make attacks similar to a wall of bullets that peel vertically and horizontally, which were already on the previous levels. Thanks for the honest comment, I appreciate it

Oohh, cool! Can you upload it somewhere?

Good job coming up with level ideas. Your looping, the enemies are looping, sometimes you not looping, sometimes your teleporting things with like big pong paddles. Also the starting animation was great.

fun one! liked a lot how many level ideas were there

Great puzzle game,

I'm awestruck by how you managed to come up with so many good puzzles and mechanics using the same general idea. It was the perfect mix of new stuff and not being too confusing each round. Also that animation at the beginning was FIREEEEE. My game got stuck on the 3rd round (browser), however I am not deducting any stars since browsers are always buggy, and I'm sure the rest of the game was really good.

Developer (1 edit)

Which round do you mean? the one where you move the bullets instead of the player? If so, i recommend trying again - for me all levels except for a glitch in the 5th ran perfectly, and the few after the third were the best ones in the game in my opinion.  Also, how did you get stuck?

Submitted

The one where there are 2 bars, I control 1, and the bullets teleport through it. Might be the 4th level. Hope this helps!

Developer

yeah, that one is a bit buggy. Still, the two levels afterwards are my personal favorites, so i would still recommend checking them out. The game has a level select, although im not sure how well that functions in  browser, so you would only replay one level
