Great game. At first kind of tough to wrap your head around, but once you get going it's very fun to manage the engine. Will you be developing this idea further?
Me and my teammate do have plans of developing it further after the jam! We got quite a bunch of ideas while we were making and planning it, a lot of it was supposed to go in the jam too, but of course, didn’t make it.
This is soo cute! Others have already given the feedback I was thinking of, so I'll just say that it was very engaging, I really wanted that little mouse engineer to go far!
I really enjoyed this! I didn’t figure out the controls right away (totally my fault for not reading carefully), but once I did, it was really satisfying and surprisingly addictive. Great job!
Really cool (and hot), fun, and polished!
It took a minute to understand this game but wow this is definitely one of the more creative games I've seen for this jam. I like how tactile everything feels, it kinda reminds me of that Mario 64 DS minigame where you have to sort the bomb-ombs. Also, love the mouse
I loved the art style and sound design. But, as others mentioned, I had trouble understanding the tutorial
Totally loved the idea!
The implementation was a bit heavy - it was hard to grasp what's going on, but after I finally got it, it was quite fun! It would be great to have some soundtrack to get more vibes.
Also loved the tutorial implementation - with hover and "try and see how it works" - really great!
The game makes the player feel like they are playing with something tangible, like a small physical marble labyrinth toy, delightful! Great job on getting the feel right on so many details in such a short time, the sound of the steam releasing is a 10/10 stim by itself
I LOVE IT! The art style is real nice and the game is satisfying to play. I have to say I was confused at first, but after I got through the tutorial it was great.
But yeah, as others have pointed out, I think a simpler tutorial would really help
Good Job!
Managed to reach 3147! The game feels really polished, especially loved the visuals and audio—they fit perfectly. I struggled a bit in the beginning since the tutorial felt overwhelming with info, but once I got past that initial confusion, it became quite addictive. Maybe simplifying or splitting up the tutorial into smaller steps could help new players jump in quicker. Overall, very enjoyable experience!
I had troubles to understand what the game wants from me at the beginning, so some tutorial that would go into more details would be welcome! But eventually I managed to score 3661 :D Overall, I like how polished the game is, especially from the art and sound perspective.
3581m! Youhou!Lovely game, very polished, I liked it.
My main criticism would be around the tutorial; there's a bit too much information displayed at first to the player, which can be quite complicated. Going through the first round together, like catching one fireball, putting it to the left, catching one steam, putting it to the right, multiple fire, multiple water, releasing steam, and such would be a massive win for that great game.
Definitely did try to convey that you can do so at first, hence the small little “(Try me!)” thing. But I do agree it can be WAY better but didn’t manage to due to time constraints.
There’s definitely an attempt though. I’ve been racking my brain how to approach conveying all of it simpler for too long without making a whole manual for it.
Ahahah that's alright ;)
Game jams are stressful enough as they are, don't worry, you did a great job!
btw, 4000.81m :dropthemic:
my score was : 1753,98
very beautiful game i think you should put the tutorial in the main page with some screenshots however i loved it good job.
also the art used is perfect and simple
Just as I was adding a note about it in the game section!
I will try my best to provide a handy screenshot for it. Thank you for the suggestion!
Incredibly satisfying and well polished submission for the jam! Beautiful art and sound design make this game very nice to play. If I were to give any feedback, I'd say the tutorial needs a little rework, as it throws too much info at the player at the same time and it makes it harder to understand how to play. Otherwise, very nice!
Thank you~!
I do admit it was folly on my part about the tutorial.
I have been racking hours on how to convey all the info without overwhelming when I was making it, since it IS a lot of info to go through… and not making it all display at once was a solution and making it page by page is more of a headache to go through based on experience. But it wasn’t perfect, for sure.
YES I beat dev time, now I'm happy
Such a creative take, props to the sound designer and artist it is so satisfying
Its a very tactile game and I like it! Also very charming and quaint even though it's a steampunk mechanism! It was kind of hard to figure out but is such a unique idea and was pulled off well!
Fun game!, i managed to make it to 2800m and enjoyed it thoroughly :)
Nice one! Love the style, easy to understand. Did not go much far (~200m in a few attempts, cold balls are too hard to get) but it's fun!
