How does your game fit the theme?
The theme for GMTK Game Jam 2025 was “Loop”, and R.U.L.U. is literally built around a loop: the automaton can only move in a fixed, repeating sequence — → ↑ ← ↑ — which creates an endless cycle the player must adapt to.

I drew 100% of the sprites myself. I also composed the Intro and Main Menu music.

Really cool game, the style is nice!
Very, very, very good.
Quite creative.
The music is nice.
The music started playing while I was still on the black screen, and it quickly put me in a happy mood.
Good job:D
Creativity, Enjoyment, Narrative, Artwork, Audio. All of it deserves 5 stars! I really enjoyed playing this game and the idea fits the theme really well while still keeping it as a very much enjoyable experience! The art style is on point and the vague computer terminal narrative didn't feel very tacked in at all! (loved the typing mechanic btw lol). Overall amazing job! The only game I've rated a perfect score thusfar
This is a really unique take on "loop". Overall a fun and creative game, and a great soundtrack. I especially enjoyed the intro screen music to get you excited about the game. The art style worked well and when you get into the flow the control (singular) feels great.
I encountered two minor bugs. The first was that the "next level" button after beating level 6 didn't seem to do anything, and I had to use the level select to get to level 7. The other was that the moving platform on the right edge of level 7 was able to push me through the toggleable blocks when they were solid.
As for design, the only change I'd suggest is that maybe the purple state should have some sort of hint about whether red or blue is next. I'd try doing like a dog-eared corner on the box on the side that is next. Not sure whether remembering the position in the loop is supposed to be part of the challenge though, so maybe this isn't needed.
Hi, DarkWolf 009! Thank you so much for playing R.U.L.U., it means a lot to me.
I didn’t think anyone would actually like the intro music. That (and the main menu music) are the only pieces of the soundtrack I composed.
Regarding the bugs… you’re right. I was working on them today while porting to Android. I didn’t notice them in the time limit 💀.
Your idea about “suggesting the next state” is very good. I’ve been toying with a lot of ideas about how to remember the next state, but I didn’t have time to implement them in my mess of code, haha. I’ll implement it if I ever make R.U.L.U. a full game.
Thank you so much for your feedback!
This was a very fun game. And I mean very fun. The idea of the controls looping instead of the game was very creative. Also the art and the shaders were very good.
Also the start of the game was very fun, 2 people talking about whether the game will be good or not.
Hello! Thank you so much for playing R.U.L.U. It means so much to me. Ever since I started the project, I’ve been imagining an introduction to fulfill the “narrative” part. I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
This was an awesome submission! I think this is the smartest use of the loop theme I've seen thus far and I love how the intro had me mashing my keyboard like I was a hacker from a 90s spy movie :D
Great job on the visuals and teaching the player how to play, at first it was so hard but once you get going with the rhythm it really gets going! Should be super happy with this one!
Hi, SirNewt! Thank you so much for playing R.U.L.U. It means a lot to me. The intro was designed to make you feel that way, and to get you into the narrative. I’m glad you enjoyed it! I understand it can be a bit difficult. I was only able to get a friend to playtest, and we fixed a few things. And I’m really glad you liked the way you got into the rhythm of the game.
