I was pretty confused at first just being dropped into it. As far as I could tell, the first screen at all in the game is an upgrade screen which is a little jarring? I also had no idea what was going on for the first 5ish min of me playing (i.e. I didn't realize that my character was auto attacking and all I had to do was move around and dodge - but I also haven't played vampire survivors so maybe thats on me haha!). But dodging the enemies was actually really really fun, so that kept me entertained enough until I figured out what was going on. I like the idea of the big boss thats both impossible to kill initially and basically one shots you, adds a bit of nice tension to the game. Overall, really enjoyed the experience! I think maybe some sort of extremely brief in game tutorial, or better visual indicators for your attacks or something would be good though!

Oh also, love the reference!

I had a lot of fun playing this. I do think that Orutai killing you in one hit is a little unfair. I died twice and both times were from getting distracted for a half second and Orutai hitting me. On my first attempt, I lived so long that enemies stopped spawning. I'm not sure if that's intentional to encourage dying and going back to the beginning but it was a bit odd.

With that said though, I got really engaged and loved the strategizing aspect of this game. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Unfortunate that you encountered that bug, it was supposed to infinitely repeat the last wave. But happy you enjoyed it!

It was quite entertaining! Sometimes the randomness of level-up choices felt a bit weird — I was getting two identical options. Other times, I guess I got super lucky and received something like +300% orb speed and +200% orb damage, then defeated the boss in just a few seconds. I wish I could’ve played a bit longer with those stats, haha. Also, I think adding some sfx would make the game feel much more alive. Anyway, I really enjoyed playing it!

Yeah, I also would have liked sound effects, but I knew I didn't have the time to get it right, and I previously got sound pretty wrong, ruing a project

Very addicting, I could see myself wanting to buy just 1 more orb upgrade. Nicely done game loop! The big monster killing other monster made me feel like I was only dodging minions and not defeating them myself, but it was a useful feature for the XP farming I guess.

Really wish there was some sfx for attacks and dealing damages, would make the game more satisfying to play

I completely agree about the sound effects, but I realized I did not have time to get it right, and in a previous project I got it very wrong because I added sound at the last minute.
