Really interesting how this turns different notes into different attacks, and all playing in a loop as if you were creating an actual song! Clicking the mouse button at the right rhythm felt good even when missing the timing, very fun!

Just WOW, what a awesome track, i loved it!

That's a pretty cool take on the looping concept. I had a lot of fun, but regardless I still like to make some suggestions:

1. The enemy variety is very low, which means at some point you're just circling the drummer with a huge group following you and there is not much else you need to do

2. The different notes you play (normal / muted / bend) really should have been special attacks! using the mute notes as a slow and the bend as some kind of explosive note would have added a ton of spice to the gameplay

3. Some tooltips showed up for a split second that I could not read but it seemed useful to know...

4. The drumming track felt a bit stiff

All in all, great submission!

Thanks for playing!

In regards to your feedback,

1 - yeah, totally agreed, i couldn't work the whole 4 days so some things came out a bit short

2 - some of them do, the polyphonic ones shoot more than one bullet and on all notes the damage is different. Explosions and speed would be a great deal of fun (especially considering the lots of enemies you mentioned), haven't thought about that. Noted!

3 - Yeah, sorry xD

4 - If you mean it in relation to the guitar tracks, the browser export has some timing fluctuations that I still need to investigate (that makes the riffs a little sloppy too depending on the run). If you meant stiff as in "it doesn't change much", yeah. I did have plans to insert drum fills periodically but unfortunately couldn't make it on time

Really valid and constructive feedback, I appreciate it a lot! :) Thanks again

I indeed meant stiff as in static / unchanging. But of course 4 days is never enough time to do all you want. I had the exact same struggles with the limited time I had available

Very original and creative concept! Didn't expect it work but it was very fun and left me playing for a while

Thank you! :)

super mega cool!!!!! the xenrythmic music is great.

sad that there is limit to the rythm length and i cant make a 137 to 4 polymeter :(. and i dont get how crits exactly work, i feel like notes get red randomly.

some ideas: alternative levels with main drums being 5/4, 7/4 etc. would be fun. Guitar riff working similarly to noita's wands (e.g triple note makes next note pierce enemies, chugs can randomly be replaced with chugs (so 1 chug 2 3 chug 4 has a chance to be played like 1 chug 4 1 chug 2 3)

Developer

The note affecting the next ones is such a cool concept, I had something similar i mind but scrapped it due to how difficult maybe it would be to communicate to the player in such little time. But it really is a great idea, thanks for playing :)

I had so much fun playing this, very addicting! Nice job and such a good use of the theme. Loved hearing the guitar part change as I got more rhythms to add.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Nice game you made :)

I love the idea of adding more items to make a longer, coherent song, it becoming more complex the stronger the player gets. I find the amount of enemies spawning to be really difficult to deal with, especially when my damage output drops dramatically from getting hit so often

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, i relate.

Balancing these jam games properly is always a challenge. I planned to implement some difficulty modes but the deadline was way too cruel, turns out syncing the systems and animations w/ looping audio playback was way trickier than i initially thought  xD. Thanks for playing!

Interesting very and very original idea! Instructions disappeared really fast so had to go back a few times to get to read them to the end. I liked the art and sounds :)

Developer

Sorry for those! Thanks for playing, really really nice game you managed to put out :) congrats!

This is a really cool idea!

Thank you!

Cool idea and sound! Quicker progression would be nice when only have one rhythm left. It can get too repetitive auditorily ^^.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Appreciate it :)
