Can confirm this is how it feels to work an office job. Lovely little troll game with a lot of personality on display! It's a shame about the original upload being inaccessible for those without Godot, but that's the kind of thing you learned the more jams you do. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! We probably could have gotten a better place in the competition if we did make it web friendly, but sadly we just didn't have enough time even with the hour of bonus time. sad :(        We also didn't mean for the game to feel like a rage game, but we didn't have the time to fully round out the features, the encounters, and therefore the difficulty of the game. also sad :(     But, we're glad you enjoyed the game!

You did such a great job! Keep up the good work!

Developer

thank you so much man :))

Thanks for linking to the web version - much better than having to run in Godot. Funny take on the idea and super impressive for not having used Godot before. The crocodile was a nice touch. Great effort!

Developer

Thanks! Godot was really hard to learn over two days, and especially hard to master, but i'm really glad you enjoyed the game and we wish you the best as well! thanks for rating it!

Sorry guys, I cba to download godot just to play this, please do upload an exe once voting is done and I'd be happy to give some feedback. I saw your game page said you're fairly inexperienced and just got started with godot so I'm glad you submitted a game here. Well done regardless and I hope you guys keep learning and making games!

Developer

ey thank you so much man! i uploaded myself a browser version and downloadable version, so if you want you can check it out!

Ah okay, i gave it a go. I like the idea, it definitely felt very chaotic throughout. I think the thing is just polish, in fairness it is a game jam game but still you probably need to strike the right balance of chaotic and annoying as for me it got to a point where the truck and croc were killing me before i even read the book properly and at points i could not tell if it was glitching or it was intended. Well done though!

Developer

thank you for taking the time to give us feedback : )

The art style is cool. It reminds me of those stickman games I used to play. I was a bit confused at first but then after finding about the time rewind ability it all became clear. Good job :)

Developer

I'm really glad you liked the art style, I put this in the description but if you liked the art style Jinny_r did all of the art and music in game. Thanks for rating our game!

Developer

wow... 11 ratings.. i really never thought our game would reach this many people! thank you to everyone who has rated our game and i hope you enjoyed it! (thanks)

SOO very interesitng, i love the art btw, and also how he looks at you when u press starts i wonder how u made the character getting sucked in very fun! i got confused about the gameplay for a while lmao

Developer

the pull was actually made by me so... it was honestly kind of a quick fix due to time. i made it so it always drags you to the right, even when you are to it's left, but since he is always on the left this never ended up being a huge problem but this will be updated after the game jam is over. Thanks for playing our game!

Loved the art, cute animations (especially the arms-up jump), and music. I actually really liked the way the character turns and the slight zoom-in when you click start.

Definitely found the game too hard. Even if I knew what was coming, some of the hazards were too fast to react to, and coupled with needing to read the book to know what was coming, it was nearly impossible (although I acknowledge “2, skill issue git gud”, lol)

Still, congrats on your first Godot game, and I hope you all keep making games!

Thanks lol, wish the best for your game!

(its me from the server) Fun game liked the simple premise and gameplay! very chaotic but in a fun way, the music was a little annoying though. besides that Good Job!

Developer

thank you!!!

It's difficult to start your game, but I've also worked in Godot, so it wasn't such a problem for me. What I liked most about the game was the music; I really appreciate the dramatic tone. I would really like it if the game explained how to control it. Or if the game guided the player step by step to teach them how to proceed.

Developer

Thanks for rating! there are controls in the description, but i see what you mean. I was planning to take steps to add it but scrapped it due to time. This would have been controls either showing up etched in the wall or in the book, so we'll be sure to add this in a future update!

Loved when the music kicked-in after opening the book, only thing to complain is maybe add the tutorial to the game

Developer

Yeah sure!!! We might add it in an update, if i am good enough at programming lol

Polished, clean game! This exactly what a jam game is supposed to be! Love the art and the brainrot references lmao. My only criticism is that it is really, really hard (but ig that's the point).

Developer

It is meant to be quite hard, I personally envisioned the game to be like Pressure or Doors from Roblox (we had finished pressure days before the competition started) so there was always meant to be a sense of trial and error, sometimes a little bit of unfairness, but always as polished as it can be. I'm glad you enjoyed!
