The art is very cool, and the game is fun to play.

Good throwback to RC Pro Am and those other oldschool racers!  The music is a bit loud for how hilariously dramatic it is for a no-stakes race and the settings didn't work to turn it down, and being able to start before the starting sound fires kind of makes drifting behind your ghosts a bit pointless since you're always in the lead.  An excellent start though!

Thanks for playing and giving good feedback. I agree with your points - unfortunately time got away from me. Hopefully subsequent laps you were able to chase your own ghost.

What a charming little game! The visuals, sounds and the music are simply exceptional, and it feels really good to control, too, especially the drifting which someone else also pointed out I saw.

It has so much character, I wish this game would become a full experience one day, I would definitely play it. :D

I LOVE the Drift King and the Fast But Wild car - the latter at some point was on two wheels from how hard I breaked the first time I drove it which was really funny haha

The way ghosts look is also really cool, I love the many tiny details you put into this. Incredible game. :)

I really appreciate the kind words - thanks for playing.

The art is incredibly, the controls feel smooth and the sound design is also great. Really well made game. Insane for 4 days!

Thank you so much - working on the visuals was a big focus for this jam so I am very glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for playing.

Unfortunately I had some performance issues at points trying to play this, but it was still really cool! The art style is incredible, I love it. And the music was such a banger! I like the wrinkle of using your own ghost to better your next time. Also I had a funny bug in that I started the race and then backed up into the start line and it counted it as completing the race with a super short time haha

Sorry to hear about the performance - it's one of those risks of trying to do Webgl, especially with a decent amount of custom rendering. But thank you for the kind words and thank you for playing.

The 3d, pixelated art style is incredible and I specifically like drifting mechanic.

This is very cool, feels good to control. Nice that you got so much done, i mean 2 levels is rad.  I like the idea that its like rc cars or something. The amount of art and how polished it is is amazing. So its a 3d game with some kind of filter to give it a hand crafter pixel art look right. Any way you could explain how you done it for lil old me?

Developer

Thanks for playing! It's a custom set of render passes that I wrote during the Jam. There's a pixelation effect which renders the base game down to a low resolution and writes that to a render texture. That render texture is then quantized to a given palette so it has refined set of colour to display. And finally that render texture is placed inside a Unity Canvas which a second camera renders out to the screen. That last step is important otherwise you would see bad jittering as a native camera moves across a low resolution representation.

Because of this, it allows you to get away with a lot of cheap assets, mostly which are coloured boxes and cylinders. I appreciate the comment, thank you.
