I like this but I have to agree with what pug said below. Everything (art, music, dialogue, sound, UI, etc.) is great except the actual gameplay itself which is fairly monotonous. Also kind of feels like your choices don't really matter when you get the same dialogue repeated several times (the robot who will "never require authorization again" is kind ironic and funny in that regard).

That being said, for a jam game, this is still quite impressive, and I can tell all the people on the team worked hard on it, so very nice job overall; hopefully the gameplay can be improved on after the jam

Thank you!!

It feels a little repetitive and the use of thresholds doesn’t feel quite important enough, but the game is fairly enjoyable. I’ll probably revisit after more of the events get added or fleshed out

Really nice art and dialogue and stuff. Clearly there’s been a lot of effort put into this. However, the gameplay feels really bland. If you just say yes to everything, you’ll be almost always completely fine. There’s almost never any reason to say no. Honestly, I never interacted with the threshold mechanics at all. The dialogue also got really repetitive after a while, and I wish there was progression of the character’s stories instead of the same character asking if they can start a bakery for the 10th time. It was also unclear at a lot of points on what would actually happen if I said yes. I think this could be fleshed out into a really cool game now, but in it’s current state it isn’t all too fun.

Thanks!! This is a result of me prioritizing all of the things I wanted as features (like the city building, faction sheet, saving, etc) over adding events. Our narrative guy, Dan, made around 120 events, but only around 50 made it in. Because they were rushed in by me, I also didn't get to add all the conditions that I wanted to for them (the bakery is supposed to happen exactly once, and many encounters are supposed to turn on and off based off of colony condition). Dan did an incredible job with the writing so after the jam we will be updating the game with all the interactions he made, possibly making a few new ones, balancing the game so saying yes isn't always the best move and many other things. Thanks for playing :)

We have a Flowjam winner here, everyone!

The pixel art, sound design, music, and gameplay are truly excellent. With each new Flowjam, the quality of the games improves, and this game is a perfect example of that. The attention to detail is pretty crazy when you think about it. Well done to the whole team!

Thank you! Making everything juicy & stable takes extra time and makes making anything slower to create but I really think it's worth it. We also used Recryptext for this project which is a big reason why the dialogue feels so fun. Recryptech helped out immensely with support :)
