Cool game! Just a little confusing... are the green dots worth points? is there a difference between the blue and red enemies? What is my objective, aside from surviving?

The gameplay in itself is simple but pretty fun! Great work :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I understand your confusion. The green "dots" are coins, while the red obstacles stay in their lane and the blue enemies change lanes every few seconds. In my future games I will work to improve tutorialization and understanding for the player. Thanks for the comment!

Fun game! feels like the frame of reference should be focussed on the player instead of the planet, did you try this in development?

Developer

Wow! Unfortunately, I didn't try it after rotating the camera, but now I realize I should've at least given it a shot. That very well may be a better camera angle. Thank you!

fun game and i enjoyed of your concept game

Developer

Thanks!

Really good concept, I made a game with the same idea of orbiting and looping planets, take a look if you're interested!

Thanks!

Fun simple game! The controls seem a bit wonky - when trying to go out of bounds it pushes you back which feels a bit off. Otherwise nice concept, nice work

Developer

Thank you for your comment! I understand, "Bounce back on edge" should've been a toggleable feature rather than the default.

That’s a hard game alright. I made just a little over 300 on my first try, and did improve afterwards but still, I’m far from the 1125 mentioned in the description. Having your own attacks looping back to you is a good twist, it gives an incentive to be mindful of the debris we put on orbit; and it’s been the reason for my downfall each time.

Other than that, that’s a nice way to implement the theme. Looping around the planet does add some challenge: yes you can see everything at a glance (which you wouldn’t in a linear lane-switching game), but you need to keep track of everything and act accordingly at an increasingly fast pace.

I think you planned to implement rogue-lite elements (upgrades in a shop, different routes, etc), and I’m all for it! If I had to suggest something, it’d be to let the resolution of the game fit the screen: I have one small monitor where the game doesn’t fit, and a large one that leaves a lot of default gray space on the sides.

All in all a solid contribution for a single person team!

Developer

Thank you for the thoughtful review! And yes, for future jams, I will have to work on accessibility for all users no matter their set up or other factors.

Extremely creative implementation of the theme(And as a game in general!) After I replayed the game again, I really loved the overall gameplay! I got 945 after a few tries... I really couldn't manage the next planet with my rotational speed haha. Overall a really nice mechanic.

The gameplay is a really well thought out and implemented idea. I really liked how the bullets can hit the player back---adding another factor to the gameplay that would have been easy. In addition, I loved the pixel art style as well!

One small suggestion will probably be a different choice of font---a font that suits the visual theme is a really big upside for a game!

Great job!

You might've gotten the non-developer high score! Thank you for the kind and thoughtful review! Yes, I agree, I plan to include greater and better-fitting UI for my future games.

Interesting use of the loop, the biggest thing I liked was the pixel art definitely stands out from the rest. The screen can get a bit messy if you continue to shoot bullets. But overall I think this is a interesting concept.

Developer

Thank you!

Challenging but fair. Although sometimes I get mixed up with the controls or the controls are weird. I made it to the 3rd planet. I wonder if the threats mentioned in the level select are just for fun or do they do anything? Anyways, fun game.

Developer (1 edit)

I toyed around with the controls for a bit. When you're on the bottom, sometimes up seems like down, but I settled on consistency overall.  Caveat of a little grace if you press the wrong on button on the edge! The threats are fun just for now. Anyway, Thanks for the review!

Thats hard, but fun!

Fast thinking game, I love it, but sometimes the movements are hard to control while the difficulty scales really fast.

Developer

Thanks for the review! I appreciate the honesty, and I can see what you mean!

Very funny with the fast decision making required.
