  • This game is not at all what I was expecting it to be, in the best way. The moment I hit play I was in awe at how literally you interpreted the theme here. Not only are you the only one, you're the only ONE. The dialogue in the game is super funny as well. The movement/physics are a bit iffy at times, it seems pretty random but sometimes jumping doesn't really do anything and it causes you to start spamming space and launch away, in my opinion when you press jump you should just jump, even if it means you launch away from the wall (arguably that'd be super funny). The game is also a bit short, when I completed this game it left me wanting more. I highly encourage you to add more levels to this after the jam concludes. (I'd play it!) I also can appreciate the easter eggs put into the game, like the game telling me I could be any other way when I inevitably decided to climb the big wall and cheat my way to the end. Based on this entry I wouldn't say at all that you're bad at making games like you claim. This game was a lot of fun and I'd love to see more. I'm glad you had fun and good work!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
A physics platformer, frustration hybrid. You are the Only One and its a struggle to the top.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
You are the Only One, literally. Big nuance, much cryptic, I know.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
We're bad at making games, but had a great time and strengthened working relationships. Thanks for helping to make this jam possiable.

This feels like one of those games one would play on scratch. Not that thats a bad thing I quite like it actually

Shocking that you're the first I've seen that used a literal #1. I like the vibes.

The physics are "broken" allowing you to jump almost always just being in contact with any surface, but surprisingly, that makes the game more fun and less frustrating. I enjoyed playing it but I couldn't progress at certain point, I don't know if it was the right path to follow (sometimes is hard to know)

Hey, thanks for reaching out. The surface cling is an artefact of  our attempt to implement wall jumping. It didn't work out as was we hoped, but felt kinda fun so we kept it in hope it would give players some laugh out loud moments XD

You're spot on with the sense of feeling a bit lost and unsure of where to go next. We need to give that more thought.

Interesting and silly concept, immediately intuitive (but difficult) controls. I just about made it to the top but fell down lol.

That was fun! I kind of went speedrunning-mode on my first attempt and finished in 0:27 by abusing the left wall at the start, but did another go with what seems to be the expected path afterwards and it was quite challenging.

The controls and/or movement were a tiny bit finicky at times, but not enough to ruin the experience - I still had a good time playing it.

Overall, good submission!
Well done :)

I got some of my Uni/College friends to try it, and everyone done the same thing.
We  accidentally made a social experiment into gamer mind and how despite having 0 direction more than 3 people have intuitively broke the game.
