How does your game fit the theme?
The units run on a loop. Inspired by Bloons TD and Overcooked, I took the loop quite literal and made a loop on which they operate.

I couldn't get a handle on this for some reason. I was making tons of pizzas to specification, but not a single order was delivered properly. The looping path of the waiter in combination with the very strict timers on customers also seemed to make it so that even if a pizza was made correctly, the waiter couldn't make the trip in time. Maybe I just encountered a bugged version of the game, but it felt like the design was in conflict, as for whatever reason, I was failing due to things I didn't have control over. Sorry if this is a little harsh.
There should be some time pressure to give some challenge but it should definitely be possible, so unsure if the version you got locally didn't work properly. The first customer that wants said pizza waiter is carrying will grab it from the stack, so it's also possible the customer who ordered first didn't get their pizza because an earlier customer got it. As people mentioned before, orders above head could have made this clearer and that's definitely an upgrade I could do. In any case, the pizza creating and recipes could use some refining but I'm glad I got as far as I did during the game jam.
No worry about harsh critique! I appreciate any critique as long as it's valid!
Hey, saw you in the discord. As someone else said, it could be good to have the orders displayed over the customers heads, as depending on the size of the window, the orders are obscured by the itch overlay. I was also confused about the trash, maybe because they were also obscured, but I wasn't sure if they were automatically thrown out or if I had to click to throw them out and was accidentally serving the pizzas to the wrong customers. Nice jamming!
Oh I had no idea the overlay was over the game like that!
The pizzas your waiter is carrying are automatically discarded once you reach the trash, both to not clog up your queue with unwanted pizzas as well as to not stockpile pizzas. It's an automatic process, could have made that clearer.
Thanks for playing!
This is a really good use of the theme, and the graphics are really nice! You did a very good job in this short time, especially considering you said you haven't worked properly in Unity for a few years!
I think it would be a fun idea if orders were displayed above customers' heads, so you have to make the orders in the order the waiter passes them, adding a bit more depth and strategy while utilizing the track even more
Thank you for the kind words!
That's definitely something I could try. I was trying not to overcrowd the screen with UI elements too much and this could definitely be an option to remove another static UI element.
Very creative, Overcooked + Tower defense like flow
Thank you!
