How does your game fit the theme?
The game’s core loop revolves around satellite orbits. You can only call in orbital strikes or a fuel resupply when a satellite’s orbit brings it overhead. The cloning bay - which allows you to respawn - is powered by the power cells one such resupply satellite drops. If the cloning bay runs out of power, death resets the game. You must plan your actions around these repeating orbital windows, or loops if you will. When you die, your body stays in that position as a reminder of your mistakes...

A very beautiful game with a great atmosphere! The concept seems compelling, but perhaps enemies shouldn't appear continuously, as the game quickly becomes impossible.

Cool game with a lot of charm! Wish that you had a few more hp before you get the respawning beacon but the concept and art is really fun. Good job!

This is such a great game. i  struggled with the laser beam at first but it is really great game. i love it

Such a neat game! Love the falling animation, as well as, the overall vibe of the game. Congrats on submitting such a cool game!

cool isometry game. I don't really like all these monster fights, but I liked this game. It was exciting to exterminate monsters, look for their nests in the night, fall, worry about companions, worry about the battery, fall again. The graphics are also very nice

the satellite mechanics were very interesting and the take on the theme is pretty unique from what ive seen of the other games in this jam. i struggled to get started with knowing whats going on at the start, maybe a more in depth tutorial would be helpful but its a game jam so understandable!

if you have time, id really appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on my game (/jam/gmtk-2025/rate/3780834) - its my first game jam and im looking to get better!

I agree with all other comments, it's a great take on the theme, and it looks awesome and has interesting mechanics. But the one-hit kills really break the flow of the game. I thought I had enabled the respawner, only to accidentally fall into the depth and to not respawn again, which was sad to see.

Love the art, love the mechanics, and especially for two people with their first jam this is an amazing submission!

The game was very hard for me, but I loved the concept. Visually, it's great. I wish there was a better tutorial to sort of ease my way into it because I feel like this has the potential to be something really great. It's not only a special take on the loop, but it's a whole world with logic and lore to it that you've built in no time. It feels complete, like there's so much more to learn about it and for you guys to tell us about it.

apart from 1 hit death, the game is very cool imo! ^-^

I keep walking into holes in the ground while multitasking trying to use the satellites and maneuver around the bugs :( The satellite mechanic is a very cool idea!

Really cool execution! Sometimes a bit frustrating, but super fun to mess about with the satellites, after I found that the resupply could be used as a weapon as well I genuinely got excited!

loved your game it was especially fun to mess around with the satalites

please play and rate my game

I really like the concept and the art was really good.  I did take me a while to understand what to do, and the 1 hit death was sometimes a bit frustrating but I had a lot of fun playing!

the holes were tilting me, but overall I liked it!

nice art! you had time creating this beautiful pixel art?

nice

i don't know if this is intentional but being in the path of the falling crate kills you even if you are not at the landing site

Developer

It is intentional as the angle it's coming from might mean it's lower to the ground as it comes in, but the threshold for that might need to be lower. Appreciate you taking the time to play!

Calling in my first orbital strike felt very cool.

Reading your description now, I see the bit about the cloning bay. It was a little unclear how my actions impacted the cloning bay, so I was just getting full reset death each time I died, which ended up a bit frustrating. However, I think I played this game longer than any other so far though, and i think it's because the art and the controls just felt good. Very classic looking game.

FWIW I only ever died by falling off the edge. I didn't like it at first, but it did make me start being very careful about where I took my steps, and then night time was very consequential. I will definitely come back to this, nice work

Developer

Hey thanks for playing! I definitely should have prioritized teaching the player a little more, the little blurb about how to play at the beginning was a last minute thing and certainly not optimal. The supply crates contain power cells which have to be brought and inserted into the power station to power the cloning bay. Also yeah falling off the edge sucks especially at night haha.

Felt like suprised Pikatchu when I fell off the edge while trying to setup an orbital laser for the first time :D

Love the idea and execution, really well done! It was just a little hard to press the buttons on the phone while moving, because the hand also moves a little accordingly (I am playing with a touchpad though).

lol thank you! Played on my laptop this morning and it was definitely a challenge with the trackpad. Especially because it's so easy to fall in while you're focusing on targeting. Happy you enjoyed it!
