This game has potential. Just needs more time and care to realize that potential.

I feel this is the perfect example of a good idea being held back by rough execution.

The choice between taking on another, more difficult fight in return for a better upgrade is a good take on risk vs. reward. It's also a refreshing take on the theme and fits nicely with the roguelike genre.

However, there is no indicator for where enemies spawn, nor does it seem to be affected by the player's position. As such, it is possible for them to spawn right next to you. One of my attempts ended suddenly when I ran into a newly spawned enemy and died before I could even react. There is also a weirdness with when a round ends; sometimes the fight would be considered "won" despite an enemy still standing. Since you attack by clicking, this can further lead to accidently clicking "Loop" and taking on a fight you're not equipped to handle.

There are other things that could be improved upon as well, e.g. adding music and sfx, balancing, a main menu, etc., but those clearly had to be cut due to time constraints.

I genuinely want to enjoy this game and if you update in the future, I will gladly check it out again, but I feel I cannot enjoy it as things stand.

Really col game a super fun! I enjoyed the risk/reward aspect. And it's an interesting take on the theme as well. All the art is really cool too. I think with some new enemies and maybe also make so you don't have to refresh the page every time you die (that got annoying) this could be a complete game! Nice work!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

This is a really cool idea! I think it would have benefitted from having a higher minimum number of rooms before the end since it felt like there wasn't enough time to really see the impact of the upgrades.

Great little roguelike, and we love roguelikes here too!

The animations and the upgrade mechanics were nice, was looking forward to more of it. Only piece of feedback would be that a little sound goes a long way to game feel, so once you come back to it it'll feel much richer with some small sfx.

I made a roguelike deckbuilder for our jam game, and would love your feedback if you wanted to try it out too!

I love this as an idea - enjoyed the pixel animations a lot, the death of the little floating eyes was great. Greeding or fleeing to power up is a really compelling loop, I enjoyed that.

As others have said, I think sound and a damage indicator would elevate the experience a lot!

I liked the idea and concept. Smooth to play.

Besides the difficulty balance, one thing game would benefit from is damage indicator. There are floating numbers, yes, but enemies also momentarily turning red would indicate the damage better.

Keep up the good work!

I like the concept even though I got wrecked the time I chose to loop insted of reward xD

I liked it a lot. At the start i tought that the player and enemies were a bit too slow, but it was actually nice to have time to dodge, i liked the idea of getting more power. I think a nice improvement would be to add some feedback to hitting enemies and weakspots maybe. Good job!

very fun minigame, should have made  the boss alittle harder tho. it died almost instantly, overall, i had fun. nice art too!

A fun time! I like the look of this game a lot.

If you don't mind, please consider rating my game as well :)

The pixel art is very cool, and gameplay mechanic is fun. The level length could be expanded on to stretch out the gameplay a bit. Good job

I like the roughlite elements of the doors and the loot <3 miss the sounds. The game is very intuitive from the start!

This is a fun idea, and even though it's short and the balance isn't dialed in I could see my self playing a "bigger" version of this game for hours. The risk-reward trade is addicting to make, and I love a bullet-hell-esque game. Great job!

Balancing is off, so there was no need to loop. But in my second run I used the mechanic and it added a nice challenge to see how far you can loop! Striking the balance between greed and safety is a nice little decision to make :) I like!

Thank you so much for playing! Glad the feeling of greed came across

Interesting concept, but I didn't really see the point in looping. On my first run, I just took the rewards and was easily able to beat the boss. After that, I tried taking the loop a few times. The risk to reward just wasn't worth it to me especially when the player is moving really slow and the monsters move way faster than you. The game definitely has potential and with a few tweaks could be really fun.
