Really fun! For sure leans a little more into a rage game kinda game, but with a bit more polish ofc that’d certainly help. But it’s a very nice and unique concept with still pretty good execution!!
Thanks a lot for playing and for the comment!
This is a really well-made game! I really loved your art style, and the chain mechanic stood out to me as especially clever and enjoyable.
Thank you! I'm proud that many commenters notice the art, I'm not a pro but I tried my best with it! And I always try to make something unique and different, I'm glad that it worked. Thanks for playing!
best take on the lasso/rope take i saw soo far! the game is a bit too hard for me and the fact you have to wait for the game to tell you to click w and e before you can use them was not fun
Thank you for playing! I made a limiting tutorial to not let players kill themselves in the beginning, but didn't have time to expand the game beyond that or introduce checkpoints after you unlock all actions. I agree that part is indeed frustrating, I'll try to make it better next time!
Nice game. The chain mechanic is brilliant.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
Nice chain mechanic, i like it
Thanks!
I don’t think this is supposed to be a rage game, but to me, it felt like one. I wish there were a way to recover after your power depletes. It happened twice that the chain fell, and I couldn’t get to it fast enough, so I had to restart. I restarted two more times before that because I wasn’t sure how to play. But other than that, the design is very creative, the art is nice, controls are responsive, and the audio effects are good. So all in all, a very nice game, if you can get over restarting every time you run out of battery.
Sorry about the rage, I realized too late it breaks so often and didn't have time to fix it. Thank you for playing, I'm glad you liked other parts of the game :)
I tested you game seeing you had a "rope" mechanic like our game, but it's completely different ! Good job coming up with an original (and interesting) mechanic for a jam ! I wish the tutorial level was easier and you had time to include some music, but overall i liked it a lot. Also lovely art, gj !
Thank you! I'm afraid tutorial level is the only level and there's not much after it :) I thought about the music, but I feel like it's okay to not have it here, as the everlasting clicking of chain creates enough ambience which fits the atmosphere of abandoned facility, but that's arguable. Anyways thanks for your comment, and thanks for playing!
As a composer i'm biased
This is such an extremely creative and clever idea! I could easily see it expanded into a full puzzle platformer and would buy if on steam. I can see so many opportunities to introduce other mechanical elements too - gears turning screws, worm gears, etc to transform motion uniquely. Very nicely done!
Thank you! Hopefully I will find some time to expand it a little
Wow, the mechanics is so awesome and unique! 500 stars for creativity =) The art is great too! Great job!
Thanks so much! Exactly two things I'm proud of: uniqueness and art :)
Unique concept! I am still reeling from the few times I let the robot die :'( The biggest bit of feedback I have is that you should have named the robot so I felt even worse :P
It has a name, it's written in game pause menu. Sorry.
Btw did you finish the game (or seen the ending in playthrough vid)? Because, well, it also makes you feel the feelings :)
I reached the top and went all the way to the right and fell into the void, that's the real ending IMO :D Kinda artsy in a way
Wow this is such a cool idea! It was a bit hard to grasp the mechanic at first, but once I got the idea it was a really unique experience. This idea definitely has a lot of potential given more time!
Also loved the little robot! Wish he had a bit of animation, I think that would add a lot of character and atmosphere
Overall really solid!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked the game! I might give this game some more attention, maybe a post-jam patch with polishing here and there. We'll see
woah really cool idea!
Thanks!
Really cool mechanic! Physics felt responsive and snappy.
Thank you! I'm sure physics can be much better still, but I'm glad you found it good enough!
The main idea for the game is great. I found the chain unpredictable sometimes however.
I also really like how there's no game over screen and you just have to see the robot lifeless. That was a nice depressing and artistic choice
Thanks! Yup, no game over screen made a lot of sense to me here, especially with the sound of engine and chain still going on far in the background.
Very cool mechanic that I've never really seen before. I will say that It was very hard and unforgiving, In the first section where you have to disconnect yourself on the elevator I failed it a lot of times, I could just never get the hang of reconnecting, and that soured the experience a little. Besides that, great ideas in here.
Thanks for playing! Yeah the physics is jank, I had no time to polish it in the end, just made sure it's possible to finish somehow (and documented in the playthrough vid)
Cool mechanics though needs some more balancing. I really like the art
Thanks! I'm happy you like the art, I was limited in time but tried to hit the right colors and style, I feel like it worked well. Thanks for playing!
Cool mechanic! It reminds me of ElecHead. There were some frustrating moments, though. For example, I had to walk to specific areas just to be able to jump, interact, or toggle my gear. However, the ending made it all worthwhile.
Thanks! I was afraid to let players kill themselves in the first seconds of play (easy with janky physics and disengages), so I limited controls in the tutorial a lot. I agree that in the end it was probably too much, and the game doesn't even last long after the tutorial (it was supposed to but oh well jam deadlines). I'm glad you liked the game and especially the ending, thanks for playing!
The gear mechanic was very well done, and I loved the way the puzzles slowly built on the mechanic's. My favorite part was riding on the chain to get up to a higher ledge. I think this mechanic could go a lot father. Great job! (BTW you rated our game back in 2021 - roll of the dice nice to see your still making games)
Thanks! Btw I only considered chain riding, but never implemented it as an intended mechanic, so it's cool that it's actually there and can be useful :) And yeah, I'm still making games and I'm sure I always will!
Fascinating mechanic with the gears, and you got a ton of mileage out of it! very impressive piece of tech on display with some great puzzles.
Thanks! Glad you liked the game
