Really unique concept and take on the theme!
Very cool idea! It needs some heavy UI, sound, and QoL work, but I absolutely respect the creativity and I love the general aesthetic of using an old map.
The old map as game world is a great idea! I like the historical setting. The concept of connecting looping trade lines together is interesting as well. I think with more polish and some UI work (ie, better visible cities, goods being shown right next to ships and cities etc) this could be a fun little game outside the jam somewhat akin to Mini Metro.
I was fully ready to enjoy the game but as others have mentioned, the map disappeared straight away for me :/
I really liked the cartography vibe. Unfortunately after my first delivery the map disappeared, making progress impossible. It would be nice if the map had fewer cities but make them larger to make the game less daunting too. Great idea though!
Game seems buggy to me, couldn't really progress as the map would sometimes just turn black without a fix. Looks pretty solid though when it's supposed to work.
TBH hard not to agree - it's the first game I've created and it's definitely buggy. After the jam I will refactor the code and make it more stable :)
Really nice spin on the theme! Interpreting trade routes as loops never occured to me. I really like the aesthetic of your game and the concept is cleanly implemented. Would have loved to see the rules more clearly stated, like for example that a ship can only load 1 item of 1 good so one supply harbor can only satisfy 1 request of its good downstream in one traderun. But I guess the mini metro inspiration implied this was the case. Good job!
I also encountered a bug where adding a trade route with only 1 harbor crashes the map ui.
Nice job! This was the first use of the theme that i saw that used a map/geography strategies. Very original!
