Such a cool concept and an enjoyable game! I really liked the mechanism that combines the attacks and the music

Looping attacks is an interesting spin, makes it feel more like a rhythm game

The sound effects are a lil repetitive for how important they are to the game
I like the variety of power ups and the strategy involved with placing them on the bar though!

This is a great concept. It particularly does a good job teaching the player what each thing is and how to use them without much additional explanation or tutorial. I also like that there are at least a few levels for each ability where it really gets to shine (caltrops vs charging enemies, bombs vs a circle of enemies around you, etc.)

My only feedback on the audio is that the caltrops sound got a little annoying by the end of the run, but otherwise the sounds seem really well designed for what they need to do. For gameplay, there were a few times enemies spawned pretty much right on top of me that felt unfair. Moving them a little away if the player is too close might help fix that. I did run into one bug: I wanted to take the movement speed thing, but I already had two healing things evenly spaced so there wasn't room. I decided to see if dropping it on top of one would delete the existing one, layer them, refund the other, etc. but instead it seems it just crashed the game.

Overall, I had a great time with it.

Pretty cool! Getting into a rhythm was fun and satisfying, especially knowing exactly when my attacks are since I got to choose when they come! I would say the heal is a bit too powerful, since it's basically required to stay alive long enough. Adding damage indicators and invincibility frames would help a lot as well. Also the bomb insta-killing you could probably be reworked, especially since there's so much going on in later waves, making it difficult to notice where you launched your bomb each time. But regardless, I still had a fun time! Congrats on your submission!

nice graphs,
If you could, please rate the Loop of Life game /jam/gmtk-2025/rate/3772687 . It's simple and fun.

I really enjoyed this! Though I wish there was some kind of level counter so that I could compare how far I got each time, it was cool experimenting with all of the upgrades and trying to make patterns that worked well and sounded interesting!

Very cool game. interesting take on something like vampire survivors but you queue your abilities on a music loop. great idea that i think could end up a lot of fun with synergies but i did end up putting a lot of my abilities at the start of the loop. I like how you get a unique music track being made on each playthrough.
