My conclusion about GameJam: Not having rating system based on Play-Time is criminal
Then I would also get rewarded for the drama someone was creating with their keyboard on me... geez
Good game, I played for 500 seconds protecting the gold and then I lose on purpose to see what would happen, I think I didn't understand 100% your game lol, I got 0 score after protect the gold for a so long time. But I can't blame the game itself, I only didn't understand well, but ignoring the score, the gameplay is well made, to build around the yellow blocks to protect them from being consumed it's a cool puzzle game.
There are 4 tasks - not just protecting the gold
You score isn't 0 - Your TOTAL SCORE should have increased and allowed you to activate special abilities (Total score ads all Task scores)
And you will see the Highscore of First Task when you revisit it as the tasks LOOP
Great effort!
I would love your rating to my game!
What if you don't like it?
No problem!! Just test it! if you don't like it, rate as you like!
Idk EXE Files are way out of range from what I feel safe dealing with
You probably should add more screenshots of your game, but I am chickening out from the deal
this game is great i really injoyed my time with it. at first i was confused on how things work but after i set it up i had a blast!
Well done 🤝 have a nice day
I am not sure, if something is missing on my screen, i don't see any tasks i have to do. I can generate a grid, but that's about it? The help does not make it clearer, unfortunately.
I would actually love to see where this game takes me!
Please consider playing and rating my game :)
command 'grid' only gives you 3x3 base
Command 'grid for(<3)' will give you a game
Tell me what is 5th super power and I will rate your game
I did enter "grid for(<3)" without "", same thing.? I don't know, what I am doing wrong? Any suggestions?
It did work now. 5th is golden tile :)
Cool game, like the aesthetics and different scoring/game mechanics
The idea is really creative, and I liked the way the game UI is set up.
I felt like it could be clearer on what is happening and what you have to do.
No... That's part of the game to figure out what gives you points and how Block Placement can last you longer within a Task
A lot of games (during this jam) use this idea of making the player fail on purpose so they slowly untangle the game & high level strategies
Furthermore - I am actually gonna call you out on Hypocrisy (go figure)
I can however improve the visuals - to show where points are coming from - and how many
Figuring out how to play a game the "correct way" is one thing, getting on explanation on how a game works at all is something else.
If players don't even have a direction on what to do, they won't bother playing the game.
I just gave you some feedback how the game felt to me, as a player. Not sure why you need to become so hostile.
Don't worry - you're the odd one out - people saying they had a hurdle at the srart is almost intentional. While you make it 3x more painful and hypocritical than it has to be - cuz idk what your magical solution is...
By being "idk why hostility" you literally invite me to explain why - which is another essay that shouldn't be here but you clearly asked now... so maybe I am not the problem - you just got stunned by unusual start up to a puzzle game you need to figure out youself as many many already did...
What a rude way to react to react towards constructive criticism, especially when it's phrased as a respectful "I felt like xyz"-statement (in a comment where a player mentions things they enjoyed about the game as well as things they felt could be improved).
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM... Yikes
Step out of this Jacksfilms before I delete your channel
(This comment was reported? Drama Farmers are Losing it - OR it's ACTUALLY Jacksfilms 👀)
If it's on purpose, that seems even worse.
Why would you intentionally make getting into a game more difficult? This is just counter-productive Game-Design.
Small tip for the future:
As a game-dev. you should be able to accept criticism, and not blame your players for anything. It is not their responsibility to understand a game like you want them to.
Nah brosky - I will not accept criticism and you'll soon know why
I literally retaliated, put effort to shut you up but you showing arrogance and trying to "deepen the wound"
That's not criticism - that's anxious prejudice
So much for not being able to accept feedback.
Have a nice day.
Idk what you're on about
And no you ruined my day - get a grip
But thanks for running away - proper timing at-least. You can apologize in my Youtube Comments any time 👍
This is quite creative! I think one thing that would really help is a countdown for the 5 moves you have before an event happened because it kind of felt like it was random to me for quite a while which felt frustrating
True - it wasn't a big deal to add - But that's the power of something looping - You can eventually build your own rhythm
So I kinda let that one slide
Really creative to have the game not constrained to simply one Window, even if WIndows Defender hates it lol.
I didn't quite get how to get to the game...
I just have a command line, a button that produces "vibe" buttons, and I can spam 3x3 grids. I never got to anything that's on the screenshots. How do you get there?
Yes - it's possible to be stunned by unusual nature of starting the game - You have to summon it with a command
Type 'Grid for(<3)' in the command line and '?for(<3)' for the brief explanation
Love the title, love the art, love the gameplay! Nice work! I hope Mark Brown will get to play this one!
Ooooh, pretty colored cubeeeess
I spent like 5+ minutes trying to keep the yellow blocks, imagine my surprise when they vanish and the game just keeps going on. This is really cool :D I like the Vibe button, that pressing it just increases the timer on the left, and the number on the button itself. I think more games need a vibe button honestly. -Kaylee
Well the "Vibe Button" is definitely not a part of any of this so I feel cheezed when you bring it up like this 😬
I have no idea what I was doing :D I had fun though playing tetris-defence against a mystery orange, spamming "NYA!" whilst I thought about the next move
You were doing the right thing - Thank you for your service
🐱👊
took me a bit to understand at first it but was a lot of fun, nice idea. Keep it up!
took me a hot minute but damn once you ge it ... it really clicks.
thank you this was awesome
Yep - My job here is done - one happy customer 🍻
make that 3 I'm sending the link to my wife and her sister xD
My guy - I brought you a new Grid Puzzle to work on 👍
I think I missed the goal of the game. What is the goal ?
Even if, the mini game with the grid is cool :)
Just Getting High Score
P.S. I do have to reveal the secret of first task... You can get stuck "in a loop" playing it forever for 1 point at a time
I really liked the idea, it's such a nice concept that pieces just float freely on my screen with that transparent background, so I could watch some youtube video and keep playing on the same screen. Great implementation of the theme!
Yes - you're talking about the "Engine" I built - it was finally powerful enough this year to be used for a Game Jam
P.S. It does has Youtube Search built in with 'YT <search>'
Omg I love it, it's even more impressive! Can't wait for you to push it to the limits
Hard to understand game but very cool! Well done!
