We ended up making a game with a similar concept, so really fun to see in which direction you went with it :D
The hitbox for the keys seems to be stuck to the middle of the screen regardless of where the flashlight points, which was a bit confusing.
The flashlight effect on textures was really cool! How did you achieve that? :o
I really liked it, the corridor felt liminal and unsettling which is always good :D
Thanks so much for playing — that’s awesome you made something with a similar idea! I’d love to check yours out too 😄
Yeah, the key hitbox issue was definitely tied to how I set up the flashlight: I used a directional light attached to the camera with a follow script, but there was a slight mismatch between the camera’s position and the mouse look. That caused interactions to register off-center sometimes, which I know made it feel confusing.
Other than that, I didn’t add any special effects — I just made sure the corridor was dark except for the lights I placed, so the flashlight really controlled what you could see.
I’m glad you enjoyed the liminal, unsettling vibe — thanks a lot for the kind words and feedback!
As another commenter said, I LOVE the flash light and how so much color is drained when not looking at an object. However, I think a little more of the texture should still be visible when not looking, as otherwise everything becomes too grey.
I also couldn’t pick up keys or open doors without looking at the exact angle the game wanted and then rapidly pressing e until the key was registered.
I like the repeating hallway idea! The atmosphere was well done.
Thanks so much for playing and for the detailed feedback — really appreciate it! 😊
I’m glad you enjoyed the flashlight effect and the atmosphere. I see what you mean about the textures becoming too grey; I’ll experiment with keeping a bit more detail visible outside the light cone so it doesn’t feel completely flat.
And yeah, the key/door interaction is definitely finicky right now — needing a specific angle wasn’t my intention. I’ll work on making those triggers more forgiving in an update.
Thanks again for your thoughtful comments — means a lot!
interesting idea! Reminded me of game called P.T. Though this one is more of a setup/showcase more of a full game. Also I had bug when I was floating in air/taller than closet lol
Thanks a lot for the kind words! It really means a lot that it reminded you of something like P.T. — I’ve heard it’s a big name in horror games, so that’s super encouraging to hear 😄
Haha yeah, I’ve seen that floating bug too — definitely one I’ll be fixing soon. Thanks for trying it out and sharing your thoughts!
can't pick up the first key for the first door so all i cna do is walk about the first corridor, loved the way the flashlight made the textures appear though, good potential!
Thanks so much for checking it out and leaving feedback!
That key bug was honestly the most annoying one I ran into 😅 — you can pick it up if you tilt the camera down a bit, but yeah, definitely not ideal. I’ll make sure to fix it properly in the next update.
Really happy you liked the flashlight effect though — that took some tweaking, so I’m glad it stood out! Appreciate you playing!
