I like idea you made for this game. Being the mechanic who has to file the report to what the damage is for the mech. I like the use of the flashlight and all.  Clever idea you made here :)

Thank you so much for testing our game Wolfer122 !

I really liked where this is going! I suppose this scratches a particular niche - people who enjoy following documents and making choices based on it, but it definitely falls within the puzzle genre - or even the point and click genre. I wasn't expecting to listen to salsa music in a mech game, but I like it!

Developer

We're glad you liked the game Denny's Guy ! We had big inspirations from point and click games like Papers Please. We were looking to create a sort of serious simulation game with narrative elements attached to each damage/pilot/mech.

Yuhhhh this one is on it, brings me back to when I was working a quality assurance job in processing. Also reminds me of voices of the void with the focus on individual tools etc and paperwork as the gameplay. Was cool as the new damage types appeared too, and i really enjoy the combinatorial mech generation with damage, its a really neat system and presented very well. Has a very slow-burn horror vibe too it even if it was unintentional, this project is honestly really inspired. Really fills in the gaps that exist in a lot of mech worldbuilding too, and implicates a really deeply entrenched labor economy.

Thank you for your comment Cintamani and for testing our game. When we first created this concept we wanted to sort of talk about many themes  and one of them was the industrial military complex. We couldn't really explore as much as we wanted the narrative but you can still find some narrative elements in the documents, reports and the mech itself. We wanted to portray how the war was progressing and how weapons became more and more deadly. We would have loved to explore more the pilot side of things by having pilot's personal objects that you can find in the cockpits like photos of their loved ones, charms, audio tapes, etc.

Yeah I can totally get that military-industrial-complex vibe from this, this project is really sweet and the themes you mention are especially relevant today honestly. Excited to see what else you make, if you are thinking of making anything in a similar vein or adapting this project let me know, I'd be keen to learn more!

Solid Hangar maintenance simulation !

The overall presentation is stellar, i really like the fact that you start with the waring lights and alarm of the mech coming down the elevator for inspection, and i dig all the cool little info you get on the top left like the callsign and former pilot etc…

Gameplay loop is reaaly nice as well where it intices you to go step by step, checking if all parts are there, checking damage types and all.

The one detail i absolutely liked though, you get to choose your own music while you work and my personal favorites were the rock tracks :D

Cool game you guys did great :)

Nice idea!

I really liked to cross check the documentation with actual mech looking for what went wrong, it was overall a very fun game!

Developer

Thank you so much for testing our game Elioloulou ! We're stoked that you enjoyed your experience with Grease Monkey :D

Original, but not very gameplay rich, that's why I expected a scary twist, like  in the "termination" meaning, or one of the robots in the end glitching out and firing a rocket at you. Check out Mike Klubnika to see what i mean.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game ! We appreciate the feedback, it would be really cool to add those kinds of malfunctions to the mechs of the game :D

Really great concept there! The clunky form and the nitpicky review - this is way to realistic! XD

Developer

Thank you for playing our game ! We're glad you liked the concept ! And you are right, clunkiness of filling the forms can be improved but we also wanted to keep that feeling of this sort of tedious labour of having to inspect lots of mechs to be realistic in a way. We are already thinking about potential UI/UX improvements to the game :)

Very immersive experience, going up and down, assessing the damages while having Salsa playing in the jukebox, 10/10

Developer

Thank you Apagon ! Super happy that you found yourself immersed in the game and that you liked the playlists we made :)

Great game. Need more Papers-Please-likes with salsa in the background. I would totally play this if the concept was taken further in the future too but its good-paced short and sweet experience as it is. Good job for making this!

Thank you very much for testing our game ! We are glad you enjoyed it :D

It is definitely an engaging game! I had to get used to the movement. It felt weird that SPACE opened the settings menu, but that's more on my side I guess. I think with a few additional Mech designs this could become a really unique game (it already is - but even better). Thanks for sharing this with the community!

Developer

Thank you for your comment and for testing our game ! Hopefully we can update it in the future to make it have more depth (more mech models, damage types, gadgets, etc.)
