fun concept! The level transition UI is super cool too. When I first started playing, I just kept shooting the flames and always failing at the second lap. after trying ten minutes I suddenly realize what the flames coming out of the motorcycle's rear was actually for (I'm so silly). But I enjoyed play it so much!

Cool idea and presentation, though I could've sworn I was getting hit in the space between laps. The vertical window was neat, maybe this game would work really well on mobile!

Developer

thank you! yeah you probably were in some way? I didn't have time to figure out how to turn off those hitboxes in that area except to make you not lose life in there

Fun idea, as others have said it's easy to cheese in it's current state and the hitboxes on the flames are unforgiving, but with some tweaks I think this is really cool. Nicely done

Developer

thank you! definitely a lot of balance changes, but kinda cool to figure those out

Cute game! I was not very good at it, only managed to complete 2 laps after several tries, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Developer

thank you!!

Okay, you got me with the twist :D

I actually smiled at my screen thinking "nice one" once the second lap started.

Developer

lol thanks, it was definitely the main idea I had going in, to have that little twist

Very cool little game. I really like how the primary mechanic as a take on the theme. I cant say I have seen many games that use the path you took as the path for the next set of hazard spawns. I found it to be pretty fun and challenging.

My only piece of feedback is it might be nice if the hitboxes on the fire hazards were slightly smaller because rn even glancing them ever so slightly results in a hit.

Overall, I had fun, and as I said before I think this was a great take on the theme.

Developer

yeah I think I made the mistake of using square hitboxes with the place holders and never changing that

Very fun game! The best strategy I found was to alternate between touching the left wall for odd rounds and then switching to the right wall for even rounds. I reached round 5 using this strategy, but then lost to some small flames.

I think that the game resolution/UI should be slightly altered to improve readability: on a minimised window, the health bar and current score weren't showing up for me. It's also worth considering adding a horizontal racing option for better presentation on landscape mode.

Developer

I definitely learned a lot on html porting haha, lots of little issues making the ui hard to read

Love the song and the implementation! I'm so glad it worked out!

Developer

thanks! wish I could take credit for the song, but it was a banger

Wow! What a brilliant take on the idea and the controls were very smooth!

Submitted

Oh wow this is SUPER CLEVER. I liked it a lot!!

This is a fantastic use of the theme! Was not expecting it at all. Great going!

Submitted

Hah that was great when you hit lap 2!

I think you need a little more to discourage just riding the walls for the first two laps, you can hug the left then right wall with little consequence.

Really fun integration with the theme! Nice work!

Haha. Loved the surprise. And like I said, the music blew me away :D
