How does your game fit the theme?
The game requires players to drag and drop spell cards to fight in battles. The core gameplay is built around a mechanic inspired by Python-style 'for' loops, wherein the players can use 'loop spells' in order to increase the damage.

The game looks pretty polished and runs smooth. I felt It might be too easy

Gun spell all the way!

Overall: ★★★☆☆

Creativity ★★★★★

Loved how simple yet how creative you interpreted the theme, for loop is a thing all we know, but using it with cards is something I wouldn't think of. Love it! I think the game would win from actual loop of the spell inside the game not just multiplying dmg, but N*M shots! We need more shots!

Enjoyment★★★☆☆

There are few things, that could make a game stronger. In particular:

- In general I feel card combo games should encoruge full hand smart plays (at least as base-level of skill. Do less - win more should be kept for advanced players I believe), this game sadly doesn't

- Mana overload was unexpected as it broke the usual pattern in game overdamage = good, I think mechanic such crucial should be introduced more directly and motivated, cause currently it creates a dialogue between player and the game. Player: "Haha im so smart dealing 150 dmg", Game: "No you are not, I attack back for 50 and you are dead" (And if I fully kill myself it doesnt even say "here is a rule I didn't tell you")

- Levels 4+ felt like repeat of the same "Dealt 5 damage, just follow the rule of not overdamaging and I will give you a perfect card to finish". Would love a bit more variety here

- With such concept I think harder levels should be explored with 1-2 additional mechanics

Artwork ★★★★☆

Art is simple but doing its job, UI is super clean!

Audio ★★★☆☆

BGM is nice, but for me it doesnt fit game that well more of a cosmic vibe. SFX are good

Thanks for playing the game and the detailed feedback!!
Honestly, full-hand smart plays and some form of deckbuilding would've definitely it much more enjoyable. I just haven’t been able to figure out how to add them alongside the 'loop' mechanic. As for the later levels, a few of them were supposed to be slightly different but ended being repetitive due to a mistake I made.

Hey, I think this game has a great vibe and has great potential! What I want more is some more variety in sfx and maybe the enemies has deck build based on them self also!

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!
The SFX and music were a last minute addition, so I didn’t have time to add much variety. I’ll most likely release a post-jam patch with these improvements.

Glock Wizard ftw! 🔥 Make the gun bigger based on loop! haha

Cool concept, I had fun! I think it would have been better with some deckbuilding aspect instead of predetermined levels but that's just my opinion. Great work anyway!

Thank you for playing the game!
And yes, adding deckbuilding features would’ve definitely made it much better. My original idea was to make it a roguelike, but I ended up scrapping that idea midway since I couldn’t figure out a way to implement it properly while still keeping the 'loop' concept.

Very nice game! I managed to 3 star every level. The last ones seemed easier for me than levels in the middle. Also, I didn't have to make loop inside a loop, which is a missed opportunity for a great level in my opinion. Still, I enjoyed it!

Thank you for playing the game! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The last few levels were designed to be 3 star-able only if you used nested loops (a loop inside another loop). I kinda forgot to update the level conditions for that and now it's possible to 3-star them even without using this concept. This also unintentionally makes them easier than the previous levels. I'll patch this issue post JAM.

Lovely game, with nice idea and good graphic, only music and sounds were bit to quiet. Good job. :)

Thank you for playing the game! I'm glad you liked it.
I had set the volume defaults for the game while using my amped-up headphones and wasn’t aware it would cause an issue. I’ll make sure to set the defaults properly in the future.

Really creative use of the loop concept here! I'm a big fan of how you set up the loop, as well as the balancing done to avoid overpowering yourself. Also wizard with a  gun = instant win in my books.

Thank you for playing the game! I'm glad you liked it.
I had a few more ideas in mind to better balance the gameplay, but ended up having to scrap them all due to time constraints. I'm just hoping that whatever I could add still makes for an interesting game.
