Fun visuals! I would have liked one more frame for a smoother turn for the vehicle to make the turns easier. But I like it!
Big fan of the music and the car design/animation :) Sadly I'm very bad at driving games, but this was well done!
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the music and visuals
The artstyle is very creative and the game is decently fun. As someone who's only made games in 2D, I feel like making a 3D game for a game jam is a very hard thing to do. The only things I would improve on in my opinion is the collisions, they either don't do anything at all or turn you 180 degrees around, maybe a 90 degrees in the middle would've better. I also wish the feathers in the air would be at jump height to make them easier to hit. Also, I tried to drive to the city skyscrapers (which look awesome by the way) to see if there was anything there and I fell through the map! Nice job.
Love the feedback, Making it 3d is hard since you have more things to consider but it's not really a lot more dificult, collisions is something we have been testing internally to fix since they area bit to strong, and we didn't have a lot of ideas for the skyscraper besides looking pretty but seeing the feedback we've started discussing ways to use it or reach there
The controls feel really janky, especially on collisions. Also the music feels pretty empty and repetitive. Its a decent attempt, but it need a lot more development time to be good.
Thanks for playing.
I enjoy the phoenix concept and enjoyed the art style. I'd consider a little less collision when hitting the walls as some of the turns were very difficult and just tapping the wall would completely turn you to the side. But overall, well done.
Thanks for playing!!
The arena looks really awesome! It's hard to get the feathers in the air when going so fast but other than that it's pretty fun to keep the car on the track
Thanks for playing!!
I recommend holding w or d to spin at infinite speed in a circle. 10/10
That's so funny, we didn't find out that was possible. Thanks for playing!!
Nice comibnation of 2D and 3D graphics! Do you think of adding gamepad controls after the jam?
Thanks for playing! Yess, we definetly have that in the list of post jam additions.
The combination of 2D and 3D is absolutely stunning! The game is simple and easy to pick up, yet still offers playability and challenge, which makes people really motivated to keep playing. I hope the handling of the racing cars can be improved a bit more, but I'm very satisfied with and fond of everything else!
Thanks a lot, yes one of the post jams goals is making the controls a bit better specially at higher speeds, thanks a lot for playing
interesting game. The mix of 2d and 3d art looked really good, although I wish the jump height was not as much (I assume it had to be to get to the higher ledges), but this means that it was harder to get some of the feathers and accidently ended up climbing up the whole track thinking that was the goal.
Thanks for playing, glad you liked the art! The jump definitely needs some tweaks, plus adding a shadow under the feathers so that it's easier to calculate the distance when jumping.
What a game, the style of an old snes racer, with more modern art was fun, I didnt realise that you could jump at first, but once I did the positioning of the leaves made more sense, and made the game way cooler!
My game is a cross between Super Mario Galaxy, and Cuphead, if you have any interest in that!
Thanks for playing!
Probably a skill issue on my part, but I couldn't get past the first level. The music was cool the first time but quickly started giving me a headache. I wish I could have gotten farther to see more of the mechanics.
Thanks for playing! The difficulty definitely needs some adjustments.
It's a great game and I think the mechanic of speeding up when you changed level was really cool, but I do have one or two complaints, it might be I'm bad at playing car games but I do think it was a bit to hard, I feel like after the second level you went way to fast, its still a great game either way but it might be chalked up to me being bad at the game.
But as a plus the art and the audio for the game was really well made and I feel like with a little bit more polish it would have been an amazing game.
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the art. Don't worry it's not just you, there are some tweaks needed to make it more approachable.
