How does your game fit the theme?
The game takes place inside a corrupted operating system stuck in a constant kernel panic. The system is broken because the main kernel loop has stopped functioning correctly. Your goal is to restore the loop and bring the OS back to life. The gameplay and story are both centered around the idea of a broken loop that needs to be fixed.

Cool little game. Also ran well on Linux, but this was kinda expected. Next time with WASD controls please

Developer

It was built on Linux. And ive got a lot of complaints about the keybinds I just wanted to make it more difficult but next time I'll fix those. Glad you liked it though.

Very well put together game. Using the arrow keys and mouse to control is certainly difficult, but the overall atmosphere was well done. Really good take on the theme.

Very interesting idea, nice! Although way too unrealistic. Usually Linux doesn’t only have a single error, not accurate! It was hella hard controlling the arrow keys and the mouse, too… Like, my arrow keys are on the right side of the keyboard… Maybe for left-handed people that’s a good idea, but please allow W, A, S, D. Otherwise, yeah, it’s creative and well done!

Yeah, I didn’t have time to make the full Linux kernel meltdown happen, even though I’ve had plenty of those myself. As for the controls, I went with arrow keys to make it a bit more challenging, but I might add WASD support after the jam. Glad you liked the idea though!

Cool idea! Found the virus minigame a bit simplistic/lacking but the overall ambiance was executed very well! Cool game :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! I get what you mean about the virus minigame. I wish I had more time to flesh it out. Glad the ambiance worked for you though, I really appreciate it :)

that's a pretty creative idea for this theme

Developer

Thanks! I had fun coming up with the idea. There were so many creative takes on the theme, including yours. Really cool seeing everyone's interpretation.

Hey, we both did the kernel aesthetic (you did it much better dude, it's awesome). The aesthetics were on point, but the terminal is not scrolling, nor is the 2nd run function working. Great job though!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I really liked your game too, the whole trading concept was cool and really well executed. Appreciate the feedback. I didn’t get time to fix the terminal scrolling or second run bug, but I’m glad the aesthetic came through.

As someone who recently borked their linux kernal: god I wish it where that easy.

This is really cool! I'd say my only issue is the controls in the minigame - arrow keys and mouse aren't the most comfortable to use at the same time. Also, I do wish it was longer - but if I want more you've done a very good job lol

I was gonna use WASD at first, but ended up going with the arrow keys to make it a bit more challenging. Enter and left click are used to shoot. Glad you found it fun, I just wish I had more time to make it longer.

WAIT I COULD HAVE USED ENTER THIS WHOLE TIME????

I personally found cleaning up all the bugs a bit tedious, but maybe that is a methaphor for the real programming :)
