Neat game! Reminds me a lot of Exit 8! I do wish the the progression was a bit more clear as I never felt certain if I did a puzzle correctly, but the characters are pretty cute. Nice work!

Amazing art and animations, very stylish! First thing I have done in game was hiding in the closet :P

Nice, reminds me of upturned, also love the moving textures

Love the vibes here! I really enjoyed it, you built an excellent atmosphere here and it's fun take on the theme as well! Good job! :D

This was really effective and atmospheric and I spent quite some time on it! The sound is minimalistic but made me jump a lot, and the visual atmosphere is a good mix of creepy and cute. I was quite freaked out when you see yourself in the corridor :p. I could see this being developped a bit more, would play again if so!

I wonder if there is another puzzle with the red clock and the room full of giant books, outside of the building ? I didn't manage to get it !

NOTE: You may want to state in the description that the game cuts off the dialogues in the web version, because I was confused for a long while playing on it! I downloaded it when I figured the dialogue was missing and the atmosphere alone was interesting enough to make me want to stick around :)

Thanks so much for playing! Really wanted to try channel that kid friendly halloween vibe for it, so glad it came through for you!

And yes there's a puzzle with the lamps on the wall in the library that gets you into a secret room with the clock you use to check that room. You have to figure out the rooms number and use the lamps to change and submit them. Defs needed some more direction with that one I think!

And the description has been changed thanks for the advice!

The artstyle and animations are so full of personality!! Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Animation is definitely my favourite part of the process :)

Submitted

This was such a quirky and fun experience. The art was great, and I absolutely loved the animations. They were full of life and gave the game so much personality.

The environments looked great, with really nice lighting throughout. Really enjoyable and unique game!

Thanks so much for the kind words! I really love the art and animation side of game dev so glad that shines through :)

The game is stunning! The art style and presentation is such a treat, it's like Tim Burton meets Morph! Unfortantly, that just made the screen cut off on the web even more frustrating but, that said, it didn't make it unplayable and, although completely unintended, add to the quirky charm of it (after i got over the initial shock). Thanks for sharing this was really enjoyable.

Also, I'm sure you're probably resting still after a long jam but if you could me some insight into your art creation process I would love to rip it off be inspired by it.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words James! I had a lot of fun with the art for this one! And yes I was a bit bummed to hear about the web build dialogue bug. ESPECIALLY because I'm sure it's like a 30 second fix :'(

As for the art style - absolutely take any inspo from it! I've been very inspired by Sable and such and it really helps you find your own charm!

  • I do all my modelling and animations in Blender - I just use box modelling for everything, and for this the characters have pretty heavy subdivision surfaces, as I was sure I wouldn't be hitting GPU bottlenecks with the game.
  • I stumble into character designs while I sort of doodle in 3D to figure things out. If I was doing something I was less comfortable making like a horse or creature, I'd defs whip out some references.
  • The animation I did with just some key poses and in-betweens and set the interpolation to constant for that choppy animated look.
  • The shader is "Toony Colour Pro 2" from Unity Asset store - I really like it, use it on everything! It has the overlay feature that I used for the hair, pants and orange handles.

If you have any other questions or wanna check out the assets feel free to shoot me a message!

Not voting but just letting you know the web version has the screen cut off.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, thanks for the heads up! I did a web build on a whim with 20 mins to spare so didn't manage to test it. Thanks for giving it a go atleast

I love the style!

The web version has an issue with the dialogue, but the download worked. Really nice aesthetic and interesting concept, I think I figured out the puzzle and made it to the end, though I wasn't exactly sure if what I was doing was correct. Do the light switches do anything?

Developer

Yes it sounds like I needed to test the web build before submitting ~ooops~ Thanks for playing! The puzzle actually relies on the clocks - the lights indicate when you went the wrong way or not. Thanks for giving it a go!

Submitted

It wasn't the correct aspect ratio for me, even after full screening, so the dialogue was cut off. This made it a little confusing, but it's still a really neat game. Great job!

Developer

Oh rats! Sorry about the aspect ratio! Only managed to build the game with 20 mins to spare and didn't test my web build. Thanks for playing though and hope you enjoyed the vibes atleast :)

Cool art! Low-poly players and animations are really cool! But I didn’t understand where I had to go… :(

Developer

Thanks for playing! And so fair with getting lost - didn't manage to playtest it enough and it is quite easy for things to get muddled with it.

Gonna pop some more hints on the page for people giving it a go!

There's a lot of charm here! I love the low poly aesthetic!

Developer

Thanks for giving it shot! Will make sure to check yours out soon 🙂
