Fun lil game! Good job :3

I really liked the tradeoff system you had with the perks, although it might be nice to have a skip option for someone who doesn't want any downsides--then again it does give the boss a way to scale in difficulty if that is the goal. The game was pretty intuitive to learn I thought, and I liked the thematic music choice too

The air crackles with bullets

Developer(+1)

It’s almost like some sort of… Bullet motif :trolling:

it feels nostalgic

I love it! The music is really good, and the entire game exudes charm at every opportunity. The Deltarune references were also very funny. The upgrades system makes this game really replayable, too. My only complaints are that the player's hitbox is centered at their sprite instead of their feet, and the game isn't long enough! When my build started to get going, and the game ended, it left me wishing that I could play in that run for longer.

Developer

I would've loved to make it a bit longer, actually, but since a lot of the upgrades were just stat changes it probably would've felt very repetitive. Still, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I’ve actually been itching for a good bossfight. This feels so good to play (bonus point for making it juicy). I also dig this kind of art style in games so that was a plus for me. Very good game!

Very great concept. I love the fact that you have to dodge while also loop other bullets it adds some difficulty! I do wish there was more to it. Overall a very nice game!

great concept! Having the bullets mirror back, having a nice risk-reward interplay there (further enhanced with the upgrades/penalties).

Solid game!

Love the Undertale references! The progression felt very fair, with the player being able to choose boss upgrades as well as your own. I think there could be a bit more challenge but all in all great work for a jam game!

Nice. Well done

This is a really creative idea! The upgrade screen was a bit overwhelming at first and could have been simplified. I also would have liked to see other targets to aim at, for example to hit a weak point on the boss or shoot at another enemy. As it is you can just leave the mouse over the boss and not worry about aiming again since it doesn't move. Still, the game is really enjoyable. Great work!

loved the game's looks and feels. I'm not too good with top-down games, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. the upgrades system was a bit confusing for me, I would've preferred an icon or something to show which upgrades are what, but overall, I liked this game.

Developer(+1)

I would've really preferred icons too but my artist was in another time zone so our schedules didn't sync, unfortunately. Glad you still enjoyed it, though!

Developer

Yeah icons would’ve been a good idea honestly. Glad you liked it though :D

It threw you in the game quickly so the first run has a hard learning curve. After that it was fun with the modifiers though some of them looked to be repetitive. Overall, the game was fun and had me screaming a little bit because of how chaotic it got. I absolutely had to play your submission after last years submission, loved Scaling City so much!

I played it on stream if you want to see the reactions in real time.

Would've loved to do more complex upgrades but ran out of time. That's just how game jams go, I guess, lmao.

Quite neat! Liked the upgrades and how dodging bullets helps you :)

I think aiming is a bit unnecessary here - since it doesn't move, you always want to move it to the center. So it becomes "don't forget to put the mouse there and don't touch it the whole round" rather than "aim" :)

It was fun completing it!

Love the artwork, and overall the game is really fun! Really enjoyable, I don't really have a gripe with it.

I love challenging, fair games, also the art looks nice and sounds good. Only thing is that I think it would have been better without is the aiming with the mouse, I just let it rest on the same position for the whole game.  Still, really nice game had fun playing it!

Love a good zen bullet hell-like. Also I think we have exactly the same sense of humor :3

Developer(+1)

Thank you! That means a lot!

Submitted(+2)

Great game, was fun playing, but difficulty is a little bit low

I spent like 10 mins playing without moving my mouse because I didn't read the description lol, but very cool game. I like the music and art a lot and it's a cool take on the theme.
