  • Clever little puzzle game. I enjoyed the take of being the last/only cloud and trying to juggle climates. The art style is really nice for the type of turn-based, tile movement game. Also works really well with the different stages of "life" each of the tiles can go through. My one comment artistically would be that it can be hard to tell which of the tiles the highlight effect is on. Making the highlight brighter or bigger in some way would make it easier to manage the board. The gameplay itself was straight forward and controls were, for the most part, clear. It did feel weird using the mouse to select yes ever time I took an action. I kept wanting to hit the rain key to accept. Great choice of background music. It's got a light vibe that fits well with being a cloud. This is a great baseline to continue from, there's lots of room for additional climates, seasons, and terrains as well as the simple addition of more complex puzzles.

Summarize your game!
This game is about the only cloud left on Earth, it has all the responsibility of the water cycle in its hand. It must make sure the environment survive.

The game design idea was to make the player feel the difficulty of being alone in this task, by facing different puzzles with different tile environment.

Controls :
Directionnal keys (WASD or Arrows) to select.
A to move the cloud.
E to rain on the tile we're over.
And mouse to confirm.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
If there were only one cloud left on Earth, most of the environment would probably die. But in this game we still have a chance to make it survive. Though the goal was not to make it easy either to feel the heaviness of the task and the importance of everything in our ecosystems.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
I think this game would clearly benefit from more complex, and realistic mechanics. That's why I listed it as a prototype, it's more about the idea and the concept and if the potential of this game could exist in the gaming environment.

I really love the art style, the simple models look really good for this kind of game. I do wish the game was a bit more fluid, like confirming movement felt like an unneeded step (understandable for the prototype) and the animations did take a bit too long to play out. Overall very cool idea and design.

Playing as a cloud is an interesting concept, and the responsibility of keeping the planet alive is a great hook. I can easily see this evolving with you controlling different weather instead of just raining, and even affecting the development of a civilization. But of course, that's far in the future. Good work!
