Cool game!
This game works really well as a bullet hell with ships. The controls are responsive, the enemies' have good patterns with their attacks and the atmosphere is well done.
There are some considerations to take for future games. Adding sounds could help to improve de experience. You can make your maps more recognizable, try adding some specific elements that help the player to know were  he is located easily. The melee attack is slow and really limited, so it could be better to be compensated with some other kind of advantage. A color scheme could work too, when I got the plasma cannon I was unnable to know which bullets were mine and which from the enemies.
You did a good job. Making a game work from the basics is hard and you reached it great. Now you can add more mechanics and twists to the experience to make it more unique and fun. Keep doing it well!

Pd. The game crashed when I took the plasma cannon on the third level. Use this information in case it's helpful.

The control scheme is certainly interesting. The game is fun to play though, shame there's no sound effects, I feel they would really add to the experience.

It was a nice polished, simple bullet hell! I think it hit all the marks, I think the strangest thing was that it used an alternate keyboard other than awsd or arrows. Great job!

This is a really cool entry. The movement was really interesting and a fun way to hop around. It was a little hard for me but also I don't play many bullet hell games so maybe that's why. Overall it's really fun, nice job!

First of all important info : i’m on windows and i played the web version, i had the broken font as well so i’m not sure what’s the issue but it doesn’t seem to be linux specific, hope this helps :/

About the game itself, i managed to figure out the start button despite the broken font and i really liked it, it’s a solid top down shooter and i like the very “Giger-esque” background, paired with the ominous music it really makes you feel like you’re attacking some strange alien fortress. I dig the fact that your mech has both a gun and a melee attack,

i’d say visually it just needs a bit more flair with a few more effects and all but i totally get this isn’t a priority for a jam version cause of the work to make everything esle especially solo ^^

I’m not counting the font thing into the rating cause this is basically the type of thing you don’t really have control over.

It’s honestly a good base it already has quite some character to it, well done :)

Thank you for the reply.

Extra visual feedback along with the entirety of sound effects were definitely lacking, but now that some other issues have been fixed recently, adjusting that will be a higher priority should I return to this project later.

No problem dude :)

I was able to figure it out despite the broken font issue (im on linux, but played the web version)

I liked the uncomfortable and ominous atmosphere created by the simple echoing clang of the music and the strange environment textures.

Gameplay was fun for a bit it was very simple and got old pretty quick. The sword thing is a cool idea but it could’ve used some vfx or sfx to sell the impact better.

One annoying issue I had with the game was the camera rotation. When you have the mouse close to the ship it can get really disorienting having the camera rotate so quickly. I think it would be better if the camera just didnt’t rotate at all but zoomed out or moved a bit towards the mouse when at the edges of the screen. Or if you do want it to rotate, it might make more sense to have a deadzone around the player

Developer

Thank you for the reply.

A hotfix has been uploaded which should make the camera a bit better (focusing has something of a deadzone for rotation though it's still very large at the moment), and weapon pickups have been finalized which may add a bit of variety to gunplay.

Solid entry, has the basics of a top down shooter.

The linux build works, I can tell you that, but it does not render the text properly for some reason. This is in both the web and the desktop version:

Thank you for the reply.

Font handling on different exports was an issue I discovered very late into the jam, unfortunately. For now, I'll reset font types to default ones in the first hotfix I append before figuring out how to get them to work across all platforms.

Nice game. The movement feels good, and I really like how you implemented the dash mechanic. I think the camera feels a bit rough and a bit too close for a bullet hell themed game.

I found the fonts in the web version unreadable. I'm using Firefox.

Developer

Thank you for the reply.

Going to look into a workaround for the font-handling of other exported versions, and at some point rework the camera (which admittedly is a bit awkward when focusing) along with figuring out how to better balance the resolution.

I like your theming! I did notice a bug where when I collided with an enemy I just disappeared and couldn't die:

I think it would be nice to be able to just hold down left click to keep continue swinging, otherwise cool game!

Developer

Thank you for the reply.

This was rushed before the deadline and proper death resetting was not actually finalized, unfortunately.
