Okay, so based on what I've read from the other comments, when the tutorial is skipped for me, is the nurse supposed to move right away as the game begins, cause I want to watch the video about the painting, but I don't have enough time to watch it all the way through before the old lady gets killed by "God". I really like the visuals though, got fairly invested in the lore and I did manage to get a few endings! I think the game needs a bit more polish, but it's really all that's missing. Good job!!

Right, yes, the "tutorial skip" skips the beginning conversation and the requirement to watch the video. But as far as wanting to watch the whole video when the tutorial skip toggle is enabled is an interesting thought 🤔 But anyways, agreed that the game needs some more polish. Thanks for the feedback and playing!

I see that a lot of effort has been put into the visual and ‘theatrical’ aspects, so it's interesting to watch the new actions on camera. But the game itself is about trying to get different endings, which means that 2 minutes of tutorial + 2 minutes (or however long) of video make up most of the playing time, which is just sitting and doing nothing. I got 4 endings, but on my 5th attempt, my idea didn't work, so I stopped because I didn't want to watch the video and tutorial again.

Developer

Ah I thought about putting it on the main menu- should've done it especially seeing your comment, but there is a "skip tutorial" toggle in the settings menu. Also, I don't say it in the game, but I did put a note on the game page, I left a dev tool on the game- "P" to fast forward. It doesn't work with the tutorial toggled on, and can be buggy at times, but it can significantly shorten the time you have to watch the nurse and patient walk to the painting. Regardless, thank you for the feedback! We've got a lot of things that we will definitely consider when making our next game.

Excelent game! Very well paced and interesting. Played throught 4 times to see some diffrent endings! I think you did a great job building tension here! Like one person said before its a little bit to "in your face" for my taste but other than that I REALLY enjoyed playing this. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words, and for the record, I absolutely had a blast playing your game! I need to upload the video, I've just been busy with work, so hopefully this weekend. Thanks for playing!

Loved the original story, and the whole concept is pretty solid, although i think you lose a lot of the fear factor by showing too much, like in the shortfilm God can be barely be seen between the shadows so i think it would have been easier to pull of that way. Good work regardless!

This was something we went back and forth on soooo much! We showed much less at one point and someone who play tested missed it completely, so we may have overcompensated. Thanks for playing and the feedback!

It was good! I liked it! I wish there was more to it!

Appreciate that! I'm happy to hear that it resonated with you, it was definitely a little out of our comfort zone. Thank you for playing and the feedback.

You're welcome!

So I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if I'm just supposed to wait, but this was a really boring game. Nothing happened until I got bored and hit the lockdown button.  Maybe if the guy in the lobby walked around or something so I knew stuff was going on.

Video will be viewable on the 14th.

Developer

Oof- hate to hear it. We should've made it more obvious, but before the nurse will move, you have to watch the video on the monitor to the left. It was our attempt to go for a more story driven, atmospheric horror- I think we need a little more practice in delivering that. Thanks for the feedback and playing, regardless.

Yeah I figured eventually something would happen but my attention span was lost after 5 minutes of nothing happening.

Just a simple tweak of the nurse moving around occasionally after a few minutes and the patients in their bed rooms shifting around would've gone a long way to helping the player know that the game is not in fact bugged.

Developer(+1)

Noted- thanks again for the feedback, our only goal is to continue progressing and improving with game development, and sometimes it's hard to see past the fog after you've been staring at your own game for an extended period! It's obvious to me in the moment- but I set it all up. Definitely will try to reach out and get more play testers on my next project so I can get a bigger sample size of player thoughts and behavior.

I get it man. That's how all my games are, but everyone's afraid to be brutally honest with my stuff.

Hey, so there is a bug when the two people go to look at the painting. If the lights are on,  the old person collapses, the audio gets glitchy and then the game crashes

Developer

Dang... That sucks to hear- I knew some kind of bug would come up. We tested it on three different computers of varying degrees of performance, and that one never came up for us. The lights are supposed to turn off, then the painting should reveal followed by the end screen. But regardless, thank you for playing! Unfortunate that you had a game crashing bug 😮‍💨
