I love the presentation of this game. The opening story was great! I like how you made the UI a part of the game. Broke that 4th wall which was clever. I wish there was a checkpoint as I had to start over quite a few times but I'm sure with more time I would've gotten farther. I think I'll give it another go. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks thanks thanks a lot for the feedback. I agree with the inclusion of a checkpoint system being needed now having seen other friends play the game and continuously die at various parts of levels 2 and 3 (kind of like learning how to beat a certain boss in a souls game where you could die at various stages of it). We wanted to make sure the level design being what challenges the player more with each level but the A.I. staying predictable by just having them throw bombs only on the left and the right with no change to their x-direction. That said, building the levels with a checkpoint system in mind probably would have made the experience more satisfying to go through.

Once again, on behalf of the team, thank you so much for the feedback. Was a lot of fun participating!

It is fun. And it is a game - gameplay, level design, story.
But it was a little boring, not sure if I want to play it again.

Thanks for the honesty, we did want to at least make platforms of all the buttons possible to access in the pause menu but time constraints + other bugs that needed fixing to help balance the game made it difficult to get around.  We're still proud of the way it's been implemented as a mechanic into the game even if it's not the most perfect way of doing it.

And no worries, we're more than honored that you gave it a try anyways. Thanks for your feedback!

Interesting experience. On the web version I was having issues when it came to pausing the game. I believe this is due to the method of mouse capture as pressing escape prioritized unlocking the mouse over pausing the game.
Other than that I had some fun.

Developer

Yeah... this is quite literally the one kind of game that would be problematic for web just because of the mechanic. Have seen a few run the game with no problem on a browser like Opera but yeah it didn't hit us until we submitted it that the web version would have this kind of problem because... well... it's web. Nonetheless, thanks for the feedback and for playing the game!

I was imbued with permanent movement, thus making this impossible for me. Otherwise, a solitary experience

Developer

I'm sorry about that. If it has you permanently going to the right, that's another problem with the HTML version. I have no idea why it's like that. The windows version, although it still has a few minor bugs, is the better experience overall that doesn't include potential experience ruining bugs like the HTML version (I still have no idea why it's like that for one version and not the other). Thanks for the feedback!

You need to tap the pause button multiple times to pause the game, other than that this is pretty neat. I like the idea!

Thanks a lot for playing! I'm assuming the HTML version was played as we couldn't test it with the last version we had exported (using the pause button as a mechanic and then expecting HTML to handle it probably wasn't the best move on our part). The Windows version is the intended experience as that will have the pause menu activate once per click, as intended.  Thanks so much for the feedback!

Yeah, it was the Web version, I'll download it and give it another go if it's at intended there!
