Hoping for Steam Deck and proper controller support in the full release

I get 25-30 fps on low settings. The Deck’s GPU really struggles with rendering moving snow. Maybe a graphics preset for the Steam Deck could be made?

I’m hoping we get proper controller support coming with the full release. I made a Steam controller layout, but I had to map some of the functions to the buttons on the back of the Deck. Perhaps some of the upgrades like the Item Scanner could be constantly running, and toggled through the Tank Menu (control panel tab?). Also wish that the brakes were toggleable like the tread spikes are.

Performance numbers are for 100% resolution scale at native 800p and snow heightfield resolution set to Medium. at about 80% resolution scale and snow heightfield resolution set to Potato, I get 60 fps while not moving, and 40 to 45 fps while moving. Both are with view distance at Medium.

Perhaps Snow Heightfield Resolution should be renamed to something like “Snow Physics Quality,” I didn’t know what it did until reading the 0.7.1 Update log.

Tank Menu Control Panel tab inspiration:

I made a little mockup of what it could look like. Please excuse my admittedly poor art skills. The text could look like it was made with one of those embossing label makers. I’m sure even in the apocalypse you could find a few of those.
