  • Well I love the art style, using the mouse wheel for movement is also quite a unique system I would love to be able to view more of the game, I was only able to move with the mouse wheel, no other interactions seemed to work. I know you had some issues and I hope that I'm encountering the same ones and not new ones. There can be alot of issues when porting to web browser, especially when you have interesting systems. Happened to my group in our first game jam. Your Game Design Document has a lot of raw planning in it which is good but you also need to conceptualise your game in it. Have a look at the example one that is provided with the jam, it doesn't have to look like that but it gives you an idea of the areas that you need to cover. Keep it up!

Link to your Game Design Doc on Google Drive.

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
The Only One is a puzzle game made in Pixelartstyle. You play a prepper dude that wakes up in a locked room and wants to get out while he has no memory of what happen. You need to find code words to unlock the heavy doors. And go through the story to find out what happend and why are you locked.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
The game is built, with the idea to use just the mouse to play the whole game. When the Story ends you will understand, the Only one Theme too and the music is built to grow + 1 with each door you open Until the ending.

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The current game does not feature the full story. We tried to make 5 puzzelrooms, but cause of multiple problems in time, there will be just 3 Puzzle Rooms. But we made it to a game! Hope you ENJOY it ;D!

i've never used the scrollwheel in my mouse to play a game before, and for this style of game, it's BEAUTIFUL. you have an amazing game in the works, a few pointers on control for new users, and the rest is whatever amazing thing you want to create!!!

Loved the art assets, aesthetic and scene. Struggled with the user input schema. The mouse scroll was interesting, but felt cumbersome, and I couldn't intuit how to interact with the world. That said, I did brute force a bunch of stuff by clicking all over the place to try to work it out, but it felt like a lot of work for little reward.

Think the main reason it felt really frustrating to interact with the world was because it looks so beautiful and awesome, that I just want to get in there and do stuff, but there was a lot of friction when it came to interaction.

Hope you develop this further. Really like the the direction!
