  • Your GDD added a bit more insight on a few aspects of the game you created, and was quite helpful to see what choices and why certain choices were made. I also, personally, like seeing the breakdown of development sometimes, so that's a nice touch as well. As for the gameplay, I found it easy to follow, and the entire atmosphere of the game was easy to immerse myself in. While trying to figure out what to do and where to go, having no music behind me made the experience a bit more creepy (in a good way). The limited sound effects you used were a great way to keep that immersion as well. The color palette being simplified to also follow the theme just added onto my enjoyment of the game. For what it's worth, even though it wasn't hard to get used to using the number buttons for certain inputs/actions, it would be nicer if other letters were used like "T" for example (based on hand placement). Lastly, I was curious to see if you had more you planned to add if there was a larger story to be had. Very interested to see where this goes, keep up the good work!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes!

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes!

Summarize your game!
Seek shelter and fires to keep warm. If your temperature (top left) drops too low, you'll start taking damage.

Be careful though— Along with the overnight end of summer, there's been rumors of strange sights in the snow, and people disappearing.

Move with arrow keys or WASD. Interact with E or Space, and use the mouse wheel or W/S to navigate interact options. Press ESC to exit interact options.

Its my first game with more audio than just beeps and boops. the first room has a subtle sound of a snow storm outside, make sure you can hear it please! <3

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
You are the only survivor in the town, fights are 1v1, and the game was made with only one color (technically two, but im not counting off-white! [I didnt want to blind anyone with tons of pure white])

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
In terms of mechanics its a bit of a mess, but that wasn't really my goal. I really tried to create an experience more than anything. Hope you enjoy it.

I saw your message, and it was fair. I think the other games were all much more refined.

I take this spot as one of trust in my game's potential rather than its current state, and I want to live up to that. Thank you and your friend for playing! It makes me very happy someone was able to look past its inadequacies to enjoy it.
