Well I beat the big guy but it took some time. What I would have loved is an indication on the big guys bar as to how much damage I stood to do if I hit with my current stone. That would have helped me understand better if I was just missing or if my QTE combo wasn't good enough. There was almost a rhythm game vibe to the QTEs. I would have loved to see more of the theme in the game but you defiantly ran hard with one of the wild cards.

Good job on this! I like the gameplay concept and aesthetic with the 2D protagonist in a 3D world, and I definitely appreciate being able to adjust the mouse sensitivity and speed of the QTEs. Admittedly, I feel like the gameplay as currently stands is more frustrating than fun, especially with how many QTEs you have to get in a row while simultaneously dodging the big guy in tandem with how little reward you actually get for even 9x critical hits. Then again, that could just be me being bad at the game.

All in all, nice work!

Way too hard for me, but the mechanics seem polished.

2D guy vs 3D guy is a good idea. :)

Very hard game. It's a lot to focus on when you're trying to dodge attacks, not get flung off the arena mid QTE, and have to do multiple QTEs all at once so you can attack for more than a pebble of damage lol. I like the music (did you make it yourself?), and the little roll the character does is unintentionally quite cute! Maybe adding an easier mode post jam where the stage is a little bigger and the enemy is a little less aggressive for people like me that suffer from a lack of skill ( '́з'̀) Good job \ (•◡•) /

i did make the music, thanks, its the thing im least experienced with that i did for this game. ill add some more difficulty sliders once the voting period is over

Very fun but hard, I couldn't beat it. But i really enjoyed playing

Took me a second to get a handle on the controls and what I was meant to do, but when it clicked it was a fun challenge! I really liked the mix of 3d and 2d and, the art style of the player character is very cute. The "human made" sound effects are great. The whole vibe was very silly and cute, but still had some teeth. Awesome work!

The most fun I've had with the jam entries thus far. Love the idea for the combat you went for, art was simple but since you have to focus so much on the charging you don't notice the plain 3D area and only focus on the Big Guy and the charging UI, both of which look really good. Only change I would've added is some visual indicator for the timing of the Big Guys hit, since focusing on charging and his animation alone at the same time is maybe a tad too challenging for some.

Developer

thank you! once the voting period is over ill update the game to be a little more clear about that

I liked the 2D/3D blend, and the sound effects were amusing (especially the “slap” when you fell off the arena). Some feedback to know you hit the enemy would be good, at first I wasn’t sure if I was missing entirely or just not getting enough crits.

Developer

thanks, ill post an update that makes that more clear once the voting period is over

impressive you put those mechanics into the game, also like mix of 2D/3D

“Dark Souls if it was good” “Skill issue” “Give me the link, I’ll do better” “Could be better” (me, I could do better)

10/10 would not play again image.png

It seems like we had a similar idea lol

Nice! Someone else who interpreted the critters theme like I did, love it! controls felt a bit clunky but overall it was very nice to play. Good job!

I like the idea of mixing 2D and 3D. This was really tricky! I still haven't beaten Goliath. I give this another go later and see if I can beat my best! Good luck in the jam!
