"There’s Always A Bigger Fish" was the main inspiration for an agar.io-like game.
"The Player Is Replaced By AI" only kind of fits because you can spectate after dying.

It's a tricky limitation but I had fun with it!

Pretty neat idea. Reminds me of the Game of Life!
As you mentioned in the description, reminds me a lot of agar.io (before it was unplayable)
When you get really big, even in super fast forward movement is annoyingly slow, and you will also become virtually unbeatable, despite the decay. Fun game for a short while, once you dominate the map it wears off but you can always start again :)
I'm not sure what my score was because it didn't save? On my second go I was basically half the map and moving incredibly slowly even in super fast mode! It should probably end when you are > half the cells. It's a nice chill game.
Oh unfortunate. Could be a page refresh cleared it, I'm guessing just bad UI, you have to go through stats pages to see "current score"->"64x64 high score"->"128x128 score".
Yeah definitely a finish line of some kind would round out the game better. Thanks for the feedback, and the jam!
Nice and relaxed music, simple and clear gameplay. A bit difficult, but probably I react slowly) As other commenters have written, the idea of building figures based on eaten orgs feels really cool and adds a twist to the process.
Wow, this is hard! My highscore so far is 173, but it took me a lot of tries haha. I like the use of colors to distinguish bigger and smaller orgz, and it's clever that orgz are shaped based on how they eat the others, it creates some cool gameplay scenarios, like having a big org that can't eat near corners because of its shape. At the end the gameplay gets a little slow, but overall I like! Solid minigame
Thanks for playing, I appreciate the feedback! Glad you liked the concept :) and for sure late game gets slow, it was way worse before you could fast-forward it, hard to solve fully cuz it's turn-based and bigger = slower
Good game, it would have been interesting to add some kind of obstacle on the terrain, but it fulfills its purpose well.
Thanks for playing :)
Cool concept!
Maybe it’s my imagination, but it felt like I was getting eaten when the offending orgz was still a few pixels away. It’s supposed to be strictly when the pixels overlap right?
Thanks! Eating actually happen when pixels are touching, not when overlapping. A few away is probably a visual issue cuz it cuts to the death screen before showing the final frame where they touched, added it to the todo. Thanks for playing :)
FYI I added controller support last minute and accidentally broke the controls so you could only move diagonally. I just updated it after the deadline with a bugfix for that only. I can swap it out for an old build if that's not allowed :)
