Fun game! I definitely am not built for rhythm games seeing how i did on this game, but it was really fun nonetheless! The higher bpm songs were a great way to increase difficulty alongside introducing the bug blast, and I just enjoyed the game overall!
Yay! Thank you for the kind words, and glad you enjoyed the game :)
Definitely not a reflection of your rhythm game skill though, since the gameplay itself has a lot of room for improvement -- we made some QoL changes based on feedback that might make the game a bit easier to play through!
i think im to unmusical for this game. couldnt get past the first enemy, kept messing up the timing.
but looks like a cool concept
I think there was definitely an opportunity to make the rhythm and gameplay a bit clearer, so not a lack of music sense at all! Very insightful to hear your perspective so we can try and make the game a little more digestible -- thank you for playing!
This was definitely a challenge but so adorable and so much fun to play!! I think if there had been letters / reminders on which buttons to press for each action that would have been helpful. I kept forgetting which keys I needed to press, and when! I made a super rough mockup of what I mean - not that you'd have to do this exactly - but just to give you a general idea.

That said, I really enjoyed Bug Beat & feel inspired by this game to try and make a rhythm game of my own at some point :D
Glad you had fun, and thank you so much for the suggestion and mockup! That's super valuable, and we made some changes along those lines to make it a bit more clear what to press and when :)
I really enjoy rhythm games, and this one was super fun. Once the beat got faster though (the level with the bat), I couldn't seem to get the hits to register on the downbeats. I suspect it's a latency issue, but I still had fun nonetheless. Nice entry!
Hey lirana, thank you for playing! Yeah the bat level is slightly bugged unfortunately, we will be fixing it in the post jam update :( Stay tuned!
This was fun! I'm always a fan of rhythm games and this was well done. I like the callback to Patapon (if that was the intention).
Patapon was a huge inspiration when making this yeah, you're the first one to call it out :) It was our first time making a rhythm game and we learned a lot. Thanks for the review!
I believe I won't be a musician but solid gameplay,
I love rythm games; this one is super hard tho, I struggled a lot to hit the first beat, i believe it is getting turned off to fast after the enemy turn, I loved the game tho, super fun!
Hey thanks for the feedback, we'll definitely take a look. Been seeing this a lot so this is the first thing we'll fix once post-jam updates are allowed. It's moreso a statement about our game difficulty and less-so your skills as a musician :'P
I got massively skill issued by this game (the music finished before I managed to hit the first enemy more than once xd) I feel something about either the visual or audio indication was off, I very consistently hit the offbeats instead of the actual ones
Sorry to hear about the difficulty. We'll be working on making it more intuitive next :) Thanks for the valuable feedback.
Neat concept, I personally cant keep a beat, so I struggled with this.
Hey thanks for trying out our game! We will definitely be working on loosening the restrictions and adding a difficulty modifier next :)
Very nice idea, it's a bit difficult to understand the pattern I have to play but good job ! :)
Thank you!
