I had fun getting to 100 dragoons. I had a hard time understanding the instructions at first, but once I started playing the game, I mostly figured it out. I liked the sound effects and food designs.

Developer(+1)

Yes, sadly, I didn't have time to make step by step tutorial and just had to drop walls of text. I am going to add a better tutorial at the start to help guide players with the mechanics. I'm glad that once you start playing it, it's easy enough to understand! And thank you, I'm quite proud of the simple sound work I did.

Well done pixel art and interesting take on the chain reaction theme!

I don't know if it was intended but I swear I got so many dragoons (maybe 20 or more) on the screen but none of them asked for pizza. Instead they kept asking for other food that was already in cooldown, and that's how I lost.

Some improvement suggestions:

- I didn't see a dragoon counter on the screen, so the player can't tell how close they are to the goal of 100 dragoons. Would be nice to show that somewhere.

- After losing, the retry button doesn't work. I had to refresh the web page to play again.

Overall it's a short and sweet game. Good job, team!

Developer

Thank you! Short and sweet are what I'm going for.

Regarding the pizza, I am unsure how this happen because when I tested it myself and asked a friend to test it,  by 5-6 dragoons, one has gained enough trophies to ask for pizza. The food isn't asked randomly, The more they give you trophy, the higher their rank and they'll ask for higher tier food until pizza, which gives you star to upgrade the other food. I didn't explain it well so I will add that into the game for better learning curve instead of just wall of texts. I am unsure how I can replicate this issue to fix it.

For your suggestions:

- I thought the stress and surprise of the floor collapsing will have more impact if people don't know exactly how many dragoons there are. But after days of consideration and someone finally mention it, I am going to add it to help ease the late game stress.

- It worked well during debug, but froze in the website. Next time I should do double check. I will fix this.

You nailed the theme for me and the idea and concept of the game is awesome

Design, sound and music are all good
Only 2 bugs I had was :

- When I fail, the game freeze completely

-  For the upgrades, when  I clicked the arrow and then the meal to upgrade the first click isn't taken into account. So  one case I spam clicked one thing and it got 2 stars directly ; the other case I clicked on a meal,  it didn't upgrade and I clicked on another that did work.

Other than that, great game ! I had fun. Keep it up

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm glad to know that you see the theme kinda fits.

As for the upgrades, it may not be a bug, but an unexplained feature. So to upgrade from 0 -> 1, you need 1 star. 1 -> 2  requires 2 stars. So that's why your click isn't taken into account. I should've added a "You dont have enough star" pop up to explain that.

As for the freezing of the game, I'll look into it. It should freeze everything except for the restart button

Developer(+1)

I have checked the freezing, yes. It's a bug. Thank you for telling me

Fun game! It was  slow at first, but it ramped up really really quickly. It has cute animations and nice SFX.

When selecting foods with the numbers, they all just stack over each other, so initially I thought they just got replaced unti I noticed they were behind one another. Not knowing at the beginning, if I chose pizza and the first Dragoon doesn't like it, then it would just run and die, and I would be stuck.

Developer

I'm happy to hear that I did well in those aspects. And yeah, maybe I can cancel the previous food for cleanliness sake instead of letting them stack like that. And for the pizza, I guess that's two lessons you learned huh? I thought of leaving it in since it's a pretty funny mistake that doesn't cost much, since it should only happen at the early stage.

A very enjoyable little game that works really well with the theme. Well done !

Developer

Thank you!

this game really is more is less. the more dragoons you get, the easier it is to die. One thing which was weird was that most of my dragoons just wanted tomatos and the occasional tomato drink, so i ended up just spamming 1, 2, and space to reduce the damage until the floor broke. Overall, simple and fun!

Developer

One food feeds many and breeds more. Regarding the food, I'm going to figure out why the progression seems slow, you should've gotten 3-5 pizza dragoons before the floor breaks, at least when I play it.  It seems to happen for other people too, not just you.

Doki will never learn this lesson...

I think you did a great job of illustrating the chain reaction here.  The breeding really did escalate to an unsustainable level.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you're able to recognize the chain reaction. it's not as apparent as others. And yes, Doki will never learn the lesson, the dragoons will just add up in numbers!

Submitted(+1)

Fun game, but it get out of hand so fast, I cant feed them fast enough. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Oh no.. I'm sorry to hear that.. I'm not sure how to adjust it because it didn't happen to me.. so I'm not sure where to change it. And I dont know if I can change that part of the game since it isn't necessarily a bug

Not that I know how you coded this game, but I wonder if it's different based on how fast each computer processes the game. Because I'm familiar with godot, I'm assume for the time sensitive stuff you either used a timer node or you did it internally with a script. If you did it with the script, be sure to multiply by delta because delta is based off how fast the completes everything.

You can prob look into it on your own but basically if a really slow and a really fast computer uses *delta they should run the same way. But if you don't, then the really fast computer does the same operation many times over the same period a really slow computer does it, which can give way to different results.

I like the idea and the way the dragoons run around and panic is really funny, but I’m not quite sure how to earn trophies, I keep feeding my dragoons tomatoes but they just eventually starve when I run out and I die, albeit it’s very funny to watch

Developer

The dragoon randomly will get the trophies themselves. I played it a lot and never ran out of trophies, I wonder how it happened for you to see how I can adjust it. I also love the panic state xD, thank you!

It's a cute game and the pixel art is great! I love how quickly it can devolve into absolute chaos, well done!

Developer

Yeah... the chain reaction ends up turning into chaos instead xD. Thank you! I hope it went well for you

A terrifying all consuming dragoon aquarium. good game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Don't overbreed the dragoons!

Submitted(+1)

I love how out of hand it gets so fast LMAO

Developer(+1)

And I hope you were prepared to handle it!

Submitted(+1)

Cute concept! It does in fact get very chaotic very fast. I love the pixel art. I haven't really gotten a chance to go "late-game" because my dragoons don't seem to earn me many trophies. I don't know if its random, but so far I can't earn enough trophies to keep up

Developer

that seems to be some of the response here, I dont get into such trouble myself. I wish I can know how it happened so I can adjust it ..

Also, I think when it comes to chain reaction, it always ends up as 'chaos' instead xD

Cute game! Funny to see how many tomato based foods you were able to think of

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I was surprised too!

A cute lil game :D Well done, very polished <3

Developer

I'm glad to hear that! It's very small, but I hope it's polished enough! Which it is according to you
