This is an incredibly polished and fun puzzle gardening game, I had a lot of fun playing it and seeing all the ways I could tweak the levels to exceed the quota. Controls were intuitive after a little playing around, though it might be good to give a walkthrough in a follow up release! Great work!

Such cool and interesting puzzles! I liked it a lot. Really creative game
there are a lotta ways i like how u structured the game
- i really liked the idea of a quota bc it encourages u to play at your own pace; often i found myself finishing a level and i was like hmmm i THINK I CAN DO MORE, I WILL DO MORE
- and it feels GOOD to get 23 points on a level with 12-point quota HAHA
- the different flower traits really make u think in a pleasant way, good on that. i like how they make you think about relative placement of water and other flowers
- i like how how u set up initial layout of the levels to introduce concepts like the waterfall mechanics
- it felt really organic way to learn the concepts and often gave me a starting idea of how to approach the puzzle
- all of the 6 out of 6 puzzles i played made me go like "AHA" or "...heheheheh i seee..." so thats really cool
control nitpicks
the controls felt a little clunky. i wonder if there's more visual feedback that could be given to give me more confidence in what i was doing as a player
- deleting: i did not know i could delete at first, and wish there was more visual feedback when i did delete
- placing: can be hard to see where placing a water because the water block covers the tile i am trying to place it on
- along with the current drag n drop system, would have been cool if i was able to first select the flower, and then select the tile to place it on
- rotating: i really wish i could rotate the water block before placing it. would feel SLICK
- clicking on placed flowers/tiles currently does nothing; it'd be cool for it to do something, whether that be to
- display the info for that thing,
- or display the actionable controls you can do on that thing,
- or rotate that selected thing,
the introduction
when reading the helpful tutorial text i was feeling "get on with it already, give me the real game!"
i wish the reading could have been spaced out while i was playing the first level, but that may have required a hearty tutorial system that was probably out of scope for this 7-day jam, lol.
- e.g. like maybe after placing a water tile, then the tutorial prompt shows up to tell me how I can rotate it?
if not for a more interactive tutorial, i would also consider having the respective key controls like "Q/E: Rotate" be just there in the first level, so I don't have to click the ârepeatedly while player is still learning the controls
the systems
- very thought out,
- splendid,
- and i love how they build onto each other
i do also wanna say that my comments on the controls and introduction mainly apply to new player experience; by the 3rd level, i felt I knew enough and had gotten used to the controls to play and think smoothly.
all in all, oken probably has the most impressive gameplay, content, and "would play more"-ness of the handful of games I've played in this jam, so yippee to you! yipee!
Thank you for the kind words! The tutorial was one of the last things I did, so I agree it feels clunky â as to the tile rotation, thatâs because I painted myself into a corner with the code. I might do a post-jam release with all the features people have been suggesting. Thanks for the feedback!
lovely little puzzle game, I was bit lost on the start trying to figure out what exactly I needed to do. not really much to say the puzzle mechanics are pretty solid; though having a tutorial or having the first couple of levels being extremely easy, just to ease the player into how the puzzles worked would have been better than just having a text dump at the start.
My goodness gracious this was super cool. I am not a fan of puzzle games but you kinda nailed this one
interesting puzzle game XD
the game play is easy to understand but the answer to the puzzle is a bit hard.
I also like the transition and the customize ability.
but maybe you can add undo button to the game. so the player can undo it's action easily
Fun concept and also pretty mind-bending. I am also impressed you managed to make an isometric stuff using only a 2D framework. I hope that starting level can be simpler so that you can gradually introduce more flowers to the player. Nice SFX but I dont hear any BGM tho...
very fun concept, but yeah i agree that the game throws a lot of information at you at once and a more detailed tutorial would help greatly for those with pea-sized brains like me, absolutely fantastic art direction as well
This is a game that really makes you stop and understand it properly for it to work, itâs definitely not simple. I would have liked it to start easier (smaller grid, fewer options).
Gameplay is literally awesome, you have so many possibilities. Regarding the theme, I feel like it was achieved, so 5 stars in both. As for the art and music, theyâre quite normal. The only thing that didnât fully work for me was the 'fun' part. just trying to understand it wasnât fun at first, so it took me a while to actually enjoy it, which takes away a few points. Itâs definitely a game you can come back to multiple times. A really good job, and I wouldnât be surprised to see it in the top rankings, gj!
Mine is also a puzzle game, but just a normal one, yours is way more polished
Amazing puzzle concept, really unique approach and it turned out fantastic. Some of the controls took me a bit to figure out, like hiding the top levels to place plants without issues when flipping the platform. Maybe the tutorial couldâve had one extra block early on to show that mechanic, but itâs a minor and irrelevant detail.
The game feels perfect overall, and I was really surprised you even made a level editor. Congrats, itâs super polished and you did a great job!
Really fun and engaging puzzles! The water fall effect is absolutely lovely and so is the whole isometric style. The music, despite factually being repetitive, somehow doesn't feel it at all which is amazing. I found being able to look at what each type of plant did an absolute godsend as the game would have been extremely difficult without it. I haven't managed to get the last level yet but I will absolutely be returning to do so when I have the chance. Gotta be one of my favourite games I've played from this jam!!
That's an awesome concept! It takes time getting used to controls and the perspective, but after that it's great.
Oh, and I desperately need a restart button, guess I'm not clever enough to get it first try. And could we get some praise for scoring more than required? That'd be nice.
Sometimes I would just put too much stuff and understand, that it was the wrong way to go. So clicking every tile to remove the pieces and restore rotation is not fun. I would go to the level select and get back into the puzzle to get the original layout and start again. The button for this would have been great.
Cool stuff! I really liked the visuals and especially the sound design. I love that muted + bit-crushed direction. Occasionally I'd have trouble finding the exact right spot to dig up a plant and occasionally the lshift pop-up wouldn't appear for some reason. Also, a restart button would be nice. The game itself is very cool and fun, good job!
