pretty standard tower defense game, I felt that the map was unnecessarily large and not much to do in terms of strategizing besides just placing down plants, I didnt even feel like it was necessary to place varying plants or use powerups when defending. the game needs a bit more polish and balancing, or some clearer instructions or a tutorial
Hi,
Actually, besides planting towers, eating seeds also grants you active abilities as well as permanent stat boosts. If you manage to protect your base long enough, it will level up unlocking new seed types that can change your strategy both when eaten (stronger abilities) and when planted (different tower effects).
You can also check out the Codex page in-game for details about the active powers from seeds and the unique traits of different towers.
As for the map size, we’re planning some balancing updates in future patches. Right now, progressing further can be quite difficult without careful defense and smart seed usage.
Thanks for your feedback!
I really enjoyed playing this game. I've been playing tower defenses for quite awhile and I think this is the first one where I could eat my towers. I found one small bug with a caterpillar slowly walking away from the tree. I just used the time to build up a mega garden! Overall fun!

Thanks a lot for your comment! We watched your video really nice run for first gameplay, and we hope you had fun. Since the game doesn’t have a tutorial yet, some mechanics can be missed. In the video, you used the seeds a bit late, so we wanted to clarify things (and it might help other players too). Each seed’s effect depends on the flower it belongs to:
-
Daisy → Puts enemies to sleep for a short time
-
Lotus → Creates an area that heals allies inside it
-
Sunflower → Makes your spray attack hit more than once
-
Flytrap Seed → Places a flytrap head on the ground; enemies stepping on it take lethal damage (it self-destructs after a limited number of attacks)
-
Rose Seed → Creates an area that damages all enemies inside
On top of that, whenever you use a seed, you also gain temporary passive bonuses like extra damage, movement speed, range, etc. Since these aren’t clearly explained in the game right now, we just wanted to point them out again. We tried to hint at them indirectly in the Codex page, but we realized that wasn’t the best approach we’ll be updating this in the next patch :D
Another important thing worth mentioning: all of these effects (and also the passive stats of your towers and character) scale up whenever your main base levels up. For example, if your character’s movement speed is 5 when the base is level 1, it becomes 10 when the base is level 3. The main base levels up automatically after a few waves, but if enemies manage to get inside, it will lose levels depending on how many enemies entered. This is one of those mechanics that’s not obvious on the first playthrough, so we thought it would be good to highlight it!
If you give it another run while keeping these in mind, you might score higher and hopefully have even more fun.
Thanks again for playing and sharing your thoughts on our game!
I was wondering if we'd see many tower defense games in this jam! Nice work. I do think with a tower defense game I crave some more strategy in the realms of resource management and placement, but balance is hard and can be out of scope for a jam. Keep up the good work.
It's a pretty fun game. I liked it! I can't really think of anything that would make this better other than what the others said. It would be great if the character was a little bit faster.
Loved the game, it was a lot of fun and has a really cool concept! I have to admit, even until the end I wasn’t entirely sure what each plant did, there was so much happening on screen it was hard to tell. For example, I’m not sure how the flytrap attack works.
The worm bugged a few times, and in one of those, I had to go all the way to the middle of the map to hunt it. It would just stand still, doing nothing.
Great game, it's really fun to play it!
very addictive game
but on late waves it becomes easier to turn off the sound. Because 500 rapid shoot-sound effects are happening at the same time, and listening is unpleasant.
It also seems that the player should be made a little faster.
I loved the concept and the art was amazing, you could just make the ui more interactive and enhance the enemy ai..
Cool game! I had fun playing through several waves of insects and did reasonably well on my first run. The difficulty definitely ramped up quickly though! I'd curious to see how your game would play differently with a little more speed for the player character and for the enemies to be a little more responsive to my attacks. Sometimes they seemed to respond, but in other cases it wasn't sure if my attack was working or not. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
Great work with this one! I found the gameplay to be incredibly satisfying especially as the waves get larger and larger. Also love all of the little visual details you added like the little particle effects on the seeds and the little screen shake. Cool game!
