Very interesting and from the amount of mechanics in the game very impressive as well. But as mentioned before a tutorial would not only be good to have, I would argue is very necessary. Still, interesting game for sure.

Thank you for playing and giving feedback!! Your critique is valid.

This game is really really cool, my only issue with it is there's too many effects, once I understood that I can literally just play around "1" and get my energy back for collecting as many plants as possible, I just defaulted to that strategy and won all 3 maps without even trying to play with the effects of 2-5.

Personally, besides what people are saying with the tutorial, I think it's impressive to think that you had enough time to design that many mechanics and then implement them too, maybe the game would've been a bit easier to "swallow" with less mechanics but then it would've been less impressive as well. It definitely left a mark on me though!

Thank you for playing and giving feedback!! I can see the criticism and thought that would be a problem with the demo. To help alleviate that problem, each instance of the maps are randomly generated (and to help with replayability given my lack of levels for the jam).  So a lot of my testing didn't actually give me all the ability type plants, some even went without giving me the 1 ability at all.  Kudos for finding the meta!

Interesting take on the theme. Nice seeing a different style. As others have said, I think a tutorial could help ease people into it.

Thank you for playing and giving feedback!! I agree with that criticism 100%.

I had a lot of fun with this one! it took me a little bit to understand the strategy but once I figured it out, it felt so good to get a puzzle completed. Awesome work!

Thank you for playing it and giving some feedback!! I'm glad you felt rewarded regardless of my poor introduction to the game rules/mechanics, lol!

Good game, not really food related though.

Developer

Thank you for playing!! I thought outside the box for traditional definition of 'food.' Photosynthesis is the process in which plants make their own food, and sunlight is an ingredient to make that happen. Hope that helps understand my interpretation of the theme!

Neat puzzler. Doesn't really fit the theme though.

100% absolutely fits the theme. My fault for not putting that together!

This one took me a bit to understand, but once I got it, it was fun. Could be a winner! A ramping tutorial or some kind of explanation would have helped a lot.

Thank you for playing and giving feedback on my demo!! I totally agree that I should have added tutorial set of levels as an ease into the mechanics, hindsight is 20/20.
