It’s kinda fun the maze levels, it got stuck sometimes also the music even if it’s good gets overlapped with win music, anyway, cool game:D
I liked the idea, but it definitely needs much more polish, especially with the hitboxes. One of my other ideas for this jam involved walking around in a dark maze, so in a way, this is the game I didn’t get the chance to make. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to have much connection to the theme, either.
(Also, eugh, description written with AI. Don’t do that.)
Nice little maze game but personally I am not a fan of using a maze as a game mechanic.
The player collision box might be too big and it makes some passage unable to enter. When getting to the goal, there is 2 songs playing which makes the game very noisy, especially when they are off tempo.
Like the masking shader for the fog but I think it needs to be re-thought on the implementation. If the dither light is more refined, it would be nicer.
Overall nice attempt.
the presence of mixels makes this look very unpolished, specially with the dithered light having such chonky pixels. not to mention the hitbox, I got stuck so many times the game is practically unplayable. probably better to start from scratch cause I cant imagine how hard it would be to polish this from its current state.
A nice little maze game but could use some improvements. The light revealing part of the maze is very well done but the parts of the maze aren't as good. The randomness is nice enough but I would more variety in the player and goal starting place (I think this is partially done because I spawned in the middle once). The main problem is the maze's hitbox. I was constantly getting stuck on corners. I think this for two reasons. One, the player and maze hitboxes are right up next to each other, as can be seen from the fact that the player can't move left or right in a corridor. Preferably, both hitboxes would be a bit smaller than their actual sprites. Secondly, the way collisions are done doesn't seem the best. From what I can gather, when a collision is detected, the player's movement is cancelled. This can be fine in some circumstances but isn't here. Instead after a collision is detected, the player should be moved as close into the wall as possible (this can be done in a for loop where you slowly inch the player forward until you detect a collision). Without this, the player's distance from the wall is depending on their frames as higher frame speed causes the player to take smaller steps per frame.
Nice little game, I love how you made the light mechanic. I sometimes got stuck on a wall, which is kinda frustrating, but other than that I really like the submission.
If you find the time to play our game too, I would appreciate it!
Nice maze game! A bit unforgiven on some corners, wish it would push the player a bit so it wouldn't get stuck
Great visual and concept! Minimalistic yet quite addicting where each puzzle really hook me up! Great games, don't mind to play ours too!
Great visuals and audio here! I had some trouble with wall clipping (especially around corners) and limited view distance, but I otherwise found the gameplay fun and engaging. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
The graphics and the music are gorgeous! Love the effect of revealing parts of the maze. But found the mazes a bit hard, would often find me lost and without time, die and repeat appears like a viable strategy. Would love more time to get lost and try to find the exit.
Quite a fun maze-runner. I got caught up on a few walls, but was able to back up and retry. Music tracks are all bangers.
This would have been a fun game if it has less technical issues. I like the concept, moving around in the dark maze with a little light source is enjoyable.
