I used The floor is....! I originally was just going to do THE FLOOR IS LAVA but then the idea came to me to have different biomes. This game isnt very creative in my opinion but its alright.

Jam
I really liked participating. I havent joined a jam in a while but this one was super cool. It was a cool challenge too! I dont have anything to say that could help imrove this jam in the future.

I wasn't able to beat it but the sliding mechanic is pretty fun. Cool game!

Developer

Thanks. Its unfortunate you couldn't beat it. What biome did you not unlock?

Submitted

I unlocked all three, just the fire level was pretty tough, and the backround blending into the foreground made me give up after a while

Nice game!

I have to point out though, it’s running at a resolution considerably higher than 64x64. Noticeable in the text, and when the hero sprite rotates. You should do all the rendering to a 64x64 pixel framebuffer to begin with, then it can’t go wrong.

Developer

Thanks for feedback. But I have no idea what a frame buffer is lol. In Godot I just set one of the settings to canvas items and it looked good. The other one is viewport and it makes the game look crunchy. I'll show you

Ha, “crunchy” is a good way to put it! With the viewport at 64x64 like that, you’ve got a true-sized screen. From there, it would take a little work to optimize your sprites for that size. Next time around, you totally should start that way, it keeps your framebuffer honest ;)

Developer

Thanks for the advice

What kind of Sonic is this? Hahaha, I like the level design. Good job.

The game is running in a 64x64 viewport on itch page, is that expected? It's unplayable without using the fullscreen button.

Developer

yeah i put 64x64. Are you having issues with the fullscreen button? If so im not sure if i can change it now.

Submitted

Fullscreen works fine.

Developer

Hi there! I was able to change it to 512x512. Hopefully you can enjoy it now

Submitted

Yes! much better now.
