This was clever! I did find four berries before I realized I could hit spacebar, so that was convenient. Sound would definitely elevate this experience. The echolocation effect was really cool. I would definitely look forward to seeing how this gets expanded. Nice work!
Was nice. I enjoyed it a lot. Very responsive! But I agree that this can be expanded upon;
Some enemies with white eyes in the dark can warn you that an enemy is near, and since sonar only hits the wall, walls become obstacles to reveal enemies.
Common avian predators include owls, hawks, eagles, and falcons, which often hunt bats during flight or at roosts.
Mammals such as raccoons, cats (including domestic and feral ones), and foxes may prey on bats, especially when they are roosting or grounded.
Reptiles like snakes and crocodiles also target bats, particularly fruit bats or those near water sources.
In some cases, arachnids (such as large spiders) and even certain insects can pose threats to smaller or vulnerable bats.
Anyways! Great work for your first game!
Nice twist on the theme with the bat sonar. Definitely worth adding some enemies and sound to. Could be interesting to see the waves bounce off the walls they collide with.
Oh my dog. I have been playing for a long time collecting 133 berries until I got tired. Later found out from the game page that the cave is procedurally generated so it is endless. I so dumby. T^T
And it does not even have any sound. I just play in silence. :')
Anyway, it is a nice sonic wave mechanics
Cool to have an infinite cave. Would love a motivation towards collecting all the little green things. Nice first game!
Hey, I'm surprised that you managed to get a procedural cave generation done in 1 week and in your first game ever created! Pretty interesting concept and well executed. It would be nice if you have some sound effects like screeching sound etc. You could also make the cave visible for few seconds then disappear and players have to emit sound waves again in order to see the cave. In this way you can also save some performance since it doesn't need to render everything every frame.
