Like others, I wasn't able to load the original version for judging, but I did load the newer version for feedback!
The idea of being stuck in a tent playing a maze game works well with the theme. Happened to me and my wife on a camping trip once, and it was miserable... so we had a great time anyways!
The audio was a bit off in terms of balance. The storm specifically tended to drown out everything else.
The maze mechanic is actually pretty cool. You can get some odd behavior if you move it around too quickly, but nothing that is majorly game breaking. I think you may want to put a limit on how many balls you can spawn though. I ended up spawning a ton for fun, and it kind of allowed me to brute force attack the finishing line.
There also seemed to be a ton of mazes! Does it auto-generate? Or cycle through enough that I didn't notice the repetition?
Thank you for joining the jam and your submission! I hope to see you for the Halloween Jam!
Even though I downloaded Post Jam, the game didn't start. Theater mode opens and it gets stuck on a red screen.
I can only rate on the broken version, but I did get it up and working with the new version. Im not sure why you needed spatial data to be turned on as it doesn't seem to require anything to do with spatial data for the game? The mazes themselves were good simple fun, a good use of VR I wish there was some more visual feedback or something happens when you complete a maze other than the board changing color and the board layout updating. Maybe the weather could change and become nicer as you complete more maps or the other way around, you start off really peaceful and the weather gets worse the more you play. I would also like an option to turn off the depth of field effects those are not fun in VR and were definitely set too strong. Game mechanics were really well done though I'm impressed at how well the ball stayed within the maze walls bounds, getting the physics working for that must have been a nightmare.
Thanks. I'll improve for future versions.
Thank you all for the feedback. I appologize for this inconvinience, but since this is my first build, I don't know yet how to fix this. I'll be testing solutions and updating the game regularily. Stay tuned!
Download the apk with Sidequest or Mobile VR Station. Once the game is installed, go to Settings/Privacy & Safety/Installed Apps/Sour Cherry and turn on Spatial Data.
Same here. Black rectangle on Quest 3. What about trying to build a post-jam Windows build? I still really like to see the game.
Same here, I could not run on Quest 3
Same here - didn’t start up on my Quest unfortunately. Same issue as the others have been saying…
Same here- it won't run on Quest 3. Doesn't even launch fullscreen, just loads in a little Meta window like it's an app instead of a game
I played the update. Very interesting use of a video (?) skybox, post-processing depth of field and film grain. I exploited a spawn bug on the maze and I won hundreds of times. I won legit three times. :) There wasn't any indication of a conclusion to the experience.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get this to run on my quest 3. The APK installed fine but launching the game just stalled on a black screen and it wouldn't launch into the game :(
