During my second run I lost all my remaining lifes failing the tricky jump with the wall descending between the two platforms in the beginning of the level with the black background.

The game is a bit rough although the only thing which I think is kind of critical (but the game is playable anyway once you figured it out and are careful) is how you sometimes can't jump because it might take a while between the moment you fell down close to the floor and the moment you're actually touching the floor.

However that aspect aside the game controls well enough and at a fitting speed and the, many, levels are good with fun and different sequences to go through and an appropriate difficulty for the jam.

Among small things I think you can only choose between the original resolution and full screen mode, there could be a way to increase the size while keeping the pixel ratio. The character also doesn't move with a moving platform he's on which is weird.

Thanks for sharing!

I think you're referring to Level 7, with We'll Meet Again by Vera Lynn playing in the background. I'm sorry to hear about that, I wanna say idk if I explained it or not but you can release X to stop jumping. I didn't mean for it to be that difficult btw, sorry. I appreciate your feedback, I worked hard on this game. Thanks for sharing.

so i am aware that this is just a nullsoft packaged game but i am not gonna be giving admin perms to a random game maker project as nullsoft installers can still contain malicious nullsoft scripts => rats

so ive manually extracted the game using 7zip yes nullsoft dosent obfuscate its contents for the better or worse and ive played it to mediocre at best reception

Developer

I don't even know what a rat is, there's none in this game.

i mean the scaling wasnt done right graphically and the gameplay was just an mario style platformer but well worse considering everything

the scaling is suppoused to be done like this you draw to a 250x240 buffer or similar and then upscale it to monitor size yes thats allowed ive asked the game jam host

now other issues included the character animation not being inverted when running into the opposite direction => moonwalking bug

and over all the game wasnt a graphically smooth experience considering the time frame given to develop it

of course i understand that you might not be experienced with the game engine which you have used or similar but still 14 days still is quite a big time frame to figure stuff out and a platform like the one like youve made is not exactly an complex concept

of course ive never used game maker so i dont know how limiting in this regard it is as i am a bigger fan of more low level engines and frameworks that let me diy stuff myself
