How does the game fit the theme?
Every spin of the wheel is a gamble: you never know exactly how it will land, and each choice carries the tension of risk versus reward. Players must decide how to build and manipulate their wheel, when to push their luck for higher multipliers, and when to play it safe to survive until the next boss.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Pretty unique concept. With a bit more polish this looks promising, well done!

Creative and fun ngl, honestly, if this receives more updates, i can argue it might be around balatro levels of addicting

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much for checking it out! We are aiming for a proper polished game release with a lot of content and new features in the upcoming months after the jam :)

Really great game. This was really fun. Music also suited the game.

This is an amazing game! I would really love to see this game being further worked on!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We’re really excited to hear you’d like to see more, and luckily we are planning to continue development and eventually release the game. So there’s more to come!

Balatro with a wheel? Genial idea. 10/10.

There's some great mechanics here, like the brake having a "stamina" bar, picking and choosing where to put pegs. I personally would prefer even more control over the outcome, like a permanent, less effective brake, or a button you can press once per turn to cut the momentum in half. Fantastic stuff for your first game jam though, i was impressed by the background, the performance bonus feature, how the score races up instead of updating instantly, "combos", etc. Lots of stuff that takes time and you don't always think about

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the thoughtful feedback! I’m really glad you noticed those little details, those were fun to put in. We are planning to rework the brake a bit & add even more features. So there is more to come in the future :)

Took me a min to figure out what was happening but once I understood its a really cool concept.

Really interesting concept.

the brake is very over powererd btw

  • the itch page is great
  • the background shaders are also on point
  • and the sounds and animation feel polished
  • great gameloop

good job.

Developer

Thank you so much! I’ve gotten similar feedback about the brake being too strong — I’ll be tuning it in upcoming updates to keep it useful but balanced.

Nice idea and the items were all super creative!

Submitted(+1)

Great idea, I have never seen a wheel builder before.

Submitted(+1)

With proper balancing it goes far, addictive and fun game

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! As others have already said, a tutorial or explanation what some things do would be great, but still a great game don't get me wrong

Submitted(+1)

Nice graphics! Why can't we re-use items tho ? Also stop giving me a gambling addiction.

Developer

Thank you for checking our little game out! Items have the ability to be multi-use, but due to the game jam rush we had no time to properly implement any such items without breaking the balancing. We are aiming for a proper game release with multi use items not long after the jam so you can look forward to that :)

Cool casino roguelike. The visual filter sometimes made it hard for me to read though.

This gambling game is cool !

Developer

Thank you so much, means a lot.

Wheel of Fortune is the essence of Risk vs Reward. Liked it a lot, but some of the intricacies were not immediately obvious, or at all. Still, I had a lot of fun with it, which is the point of a game no?

Developer

It has a few mechanics that are not obvious from the get-go and we really need a tutorial in future updates. Thank you for giving the game a try and we are glad you had fun !

It took me a bit to grasp the concepts, but once I did it was really cool! The artstyle could use a little work (especially for the UI) but it has great potential. I couldn't quite grasp what pegs were, so I kinda spammed them all over the place 😅. If there was a tutorial, or it was a bit more intuitive, I could see this being a really great game.

Developer

Yes overall visibility of the UI and elements and tutorial is a much needed feature. Thank you so much for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

The artstyle's great! The gambling feels very well balanced.

Awesome Game. Really plays into the them. Like the items idea. To spice it up but not taking away from the fact that it is a gambling game. Really nice!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, my only gripes are that the text can be hard to read so Anti-Aliasing would be nice, and the game would highly benefit from an in-game tutorial.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback ! We sadly ran out of time for the in-game tutorial, but it is in the making.
