Nice game for only having 2 days to make it! I like the character, reminds me a bit of Homer Ball from The Simpsons game, and having to collect cookies reminds me more of him ahahahaha. Some sounds would have been nice, but I started learning Godot recently too and I know some simple things take more time than they should when you don't know how to make them so I understand you focused on the playable part.
Good job!
P.S: Adding coyote time would be nice, not strictly necessary for this game but for future ones would be great
Fun short game. I'm usually really bad at platformers, but I did it! Great job for the time you guys did have!
The animation of the player looks very well made! A fun mechanic to add to the game is that the more cookies you eat in the level, the slower you move and lower you jump to add more challenge to the game. But in the 2 days you guys made it in, still very well done!
Thank you for trying out our game! The mechanics you mentioned were implemented but subtly, and it was the risk of this game. We also wanted to increase the character size the more cookies eaten. In fact, you cannot jump over the first slope after eating all 5 cookies.
Nice job! It was on the short side, but I assume this was one of your very first games, right? If so, great job and keep going! If you don't mind, would you mind checking out my game as well? It was my first 2D game I've made (I did make a few 3D games before), I would really appreciate it! Hope you two score well on the jam!
Despite the modest appearances, I was surprised to discover this was a novel (but short) puzzle platformer... I liked the Peter Griffin vibe, but the rolling controls & level design were both rather clever. Also shout out to my fellow Godot devs... Godot 4ever
Thank you for trying out our game! Unfortunately, despite the long jam duration, we could only start working on it during the weekends, and only ended up releasing 1 level with some difficulties. I'm glad you like the controls and design! And yes, Godot 4ever! (Former Unity dev)
The thumbnail got me to click. xd
would be nice if jumping was a different button, on controller its fully left stick making some jumps a bit harsh.
hopefully you guys learned a lot of Godot to make the next one bigger :D
Thank you for trying out our game! We will see what other buttons and controller support can be implemented. We definitely learned a lot from Godot and will strive to improve on it.
Also yes our round boi just keep rolling XD
Love the roll animation
I loved the game, especially the animation of the character jumping around. It was really funny, and his resemblance to Peter Griffin reminded me more of him, and it was cool.
Thank you for trying out our game! The character and animation used were in fact referencing the series Peter Griffin, but one of its side characters Diabeto :)
Interesting concept, obviously a little short and still took me a bit to realise, that you want to just jump up the slopes. I would've liked a few more levels to play around with the mechanics you made.
Hope you keep making games :)
Thank you for your comment and for trying out our game! The original plan was that you could still walk up the slopes, and eating cookies would increase your weight and slow you down, and ultimately unable to walk or jump past them. Due to technical difficulties, we were unable to figure out a solution to walk up the slope on time.
I will make more levels in a future update, despite the game jam having ended, and we will do our best to make more games that everyone can enjoy!
Cool unique platformer
