This turned out great! I was able to play on an Xbox controller and it felt pretty smooth and intuitive. I ran into a bug (I think?) where I hopped at the beginning over the speed patch and got flipped permanently onto my side, flying through the air until I hit the hop button again. It also kinda felt like I could handle most of the turns without a drift, so I'm not sure if I was using it right. But, I mean, what a great entry for a jam. So cool!

Thanks for playing ! Yeah that's a bug that happens sometimes because the car's rotation is limited so you can't roll over, and the gravity is set perpendicular to the surface below the car so you can race on banked roads or even upside down, but I ended up not having a use-case for that. Sometimes it will pickup a vertical surface and go crazy.
Good to know that it works well on a controller ! The drift is purely a risk/reward mechanic that adds a bit of a skill element, it's not necessary to finish the track (you'll notice sometimes the AI will drift a corner and sometimes not).
It gives you an edge if you use it right as it gives a speed boost depending on the drift tier (you see it at the color of the sparks), and you can also chain drifts quickly in succession to cut turns and be quicker than normal. (it also doesn't limit your max speed so you can chain a speed boost with a drift and keep a lot of the momentum)

Ahh ok that's what's going on with the drift. I could tell sometimes I was getting a speed boost, but I wasn't sure how to do it on purpose. But I also haven't played a lot of racing or kart games, so maybe I just didn't know what to look for.

Music is a banger, game looks awesome and is super fun. Drift could use a bit tighter control imo but overall amazing!

This was a lot of fun to play. I also have been jamming out to the final score screen (the music is a great touch to this game). I think this is holding true to what I loved a lot about Mario Kart. Excellent work! I would love to see more levels for this so I can continue to play.

Super impressive stuff! love it!

Nice charming racing game. I liked the sound track switches. Altho I hope acceleration is automatic. Holding the forward button hurts...

It feels great, its definitely fun, the music choice is great, i love the little slime guys, the amount of polish gone into this is fantastic!

Great entry and would love to see more of this!

I wish I could find my controller to really get a good feel for it but I really enjoyed my time with it even on a keyboard! The drifting feels REAL nice!

Holy crow, that was a blast! Took me further back than I’d care to admit, that’s for sure. Brilliantly done!

This was awesome! I couldn’t really get the hang of initiating the drift, but then again I was playing on a (linux) laptop keyboard too. Everything was very smooth. Definitely has all the trappings of a good Mario Kart clone! Loved the music :D !
