How does the game fit the theme?
I don't think I managed to implement the theme 100%, but I tried to show the risk in that sometimes you have to be dishonest and take risks for the sake of what you love or just for a roof over your head. Of course it turned out a bit rough, but that was the idea in my head.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I didn't use a lot of sprites. The portraits and person sprite I took from free assets, and the icons too. The code was made from scratch.

How many people worked on the game?

I got so immersed, I was panicking cause of the cat surgery and the critical medicine, but I'm not sure why I got bribes, since I did the job 100% correctly for everyone. Regardless, a fantastic game!!

Very effective in recreating the vibe of Papers, Please. One challenge I have with this genre of game is pacing; there is a fair amount of waiting in between moments of action or decision making. I would love to see a novel solution to that challenge.

I liked the visuals; however, I didn't understand how it fits the theme

Nicely done! Really cool take on a Papers, Please-style game.

I think the game could use some refinements to match the theme better. Overall though, the music, gameplay, and animations are really nice and well put together . Great job

Bice implementation! Love the animations and the fact that you can move the UI panels as you like! Also very nice variation for the text.

Quick Suggestions:

  •  Having a 1-2 frame animation for opening the door would give a nice touch

Well done here!

a great papers please esque game with its own twists, quite good

I took the risk and accepted every single bribe. It didn't seem to pay off. Was a pretty good variant on the Papers, Please formula.

I think the check for violation button kind of remove a lot of the work, I'd have to do and reduce to a yes no question.

Otherwise I like the atmosphere of the game, graphics are simple but I like and the characters seem to have different personalities, a bit more depth might help sympathize with them.

Good work!

I think you did create the same feel of paper please.
Just need more story to put weight to what I am letting through.

It was a beautiful experience to play this game and see Papers Please inspiration ^^ Really great job!

Quite a unique one here! Very good job for the week for solo dev! :) Artstyle also fits in perfectly!

I rarely enjoy these types of games, but yours was very nice it's much simpler than usual and the way you played on the theme was rly clever W game!

I like the moral dilemma as a way of risking something. The game is pretty and I like the black and white visuals althought the UI was quite confusing. I also enjoyed the paper please theme as I'm a fan of those types of games. Honestly for a game done by one person in a week this is great, well done!

Ohhh our games are somewhat similar lol. I really enjoyed it. The white and black style is one of my favorites too.

I think the game manages to somewhat fit the theme! Might have benefitted from having the risk being shown in the game itself but great nonetheless!
