I found the controls a bit difficult but the visuals had charm, especially the character model. The grapple was pretty cool!

It was really fun to move around and use the hook thanks to good level design but suffers from need of a tutorial. i was clueless first time playing and couldnt do anything.  art was satisfying. Like others pointed out lack of attack indicator was a little frustrating. also i couldnt understand how health worked.  Keep pu the good work!

I did not really figure out how to get past the first obstacle. I saw that you can get a read thread or something with the right mouse button, but a tutorial or some sort of tool tip would have helped a lot here.

Also, when you die, it would be nice if you would have a quicker reset option then being set back to the title screen.

This is a fun physics-based platformer! I really like concept and has a lot of room for development! The level design was intuitive and I knew where to go and the level presented easy obstacles when learning the swinging mechanic.

Quick feedback:

  • The attack timing could use some work. There isn't the feeling of satisfaction when killing an enemy. I felt like I was hitting nothing because there was no indication of an enemy getting hit or damaged, or character really engaging in the attack as well.
  • This could be due to time constraint, however it would be helpful if the HP UI and the Rope Count UI(?) was different, I was a little confused as to what each of them represented.
  • The swinging mechanic is really cool! I wish there was a more in-depth tutorial on showing the player how the mechanic works and how they can use it to their advantage throughout the level. It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but once I did, it started to become fun!

Overall, great work for pulling off a physics-based game jam in one week! I'd love to see this developed a little bit further in the future! Great work you guys!

YO, artist here, thanks for the input. we ACTUALLY did have the ui made and ready, just didn't have the time to implement it, our technical guy however had to cut his time short near the end so it didn't make it in. rest of the inputs are awesome, so we'll keep those in mind for our next project ;)

It took some while to figure out how to swing properly . The level design is well done. Maybe you could add more life, so you wont die if one buisccuit is touching you, that would be more motivating i think.  But overall its a nice game with great visuals.

I can’t publish an image of the win screen because I was spamming click to kill the last bat and the game went to the win screen and I immediately clicked to go back to menu on accident ): But really enjoyed the swinging in this one. Incredibly well made hook mechanic. Also the art is incredible if it was really all done by you and during the jam duration. The level design was really well done with the looping and multiple pathways, combined with the swing mechanic it was definitely what made me want to finish it. I would have liked it a lot more if it explored mainly the movement, honestly the combat is the only thing that didn’t click for me and having it tied to the win condition was the only thing that felt a bit like a drag. It was super fun still to fin the bats through the level though, that was what kept me going. Good job!

Hi! there were 5 of us, I'm the artist for the main screen, the buttons, and main map design, we had someone separate for the prop design and physical map itself, glad you enjoyed it!

(part of the map design was also changed by the prop designer, so he added a lot of the overall looping about, i'll let him know about your comment!)

Hey! I'm the main programmer and game designer, I happy to see your views matched my own! As for the combat, I for sure agree that the combat didn't feel great, it was semi-rushed, so much time had been spent on the grapple hook :(. I'm greatful for the comment, and I'm happy you enjoyed!

Cool little physics based platformer, not sure how it's related to the theme though

Thanks! You kill buiscuit enemies. (We're aware of the meaning of the actual meaning of the phrase).

Perhaps it wasn't clear, based on the lack of polish we were able to include in time...

Thanks for playing our game!
